Splitting RCA
I bought Audioquest RCA splitter and it worked like a charm. Now I am wondering if I can use the same type splitter to split the coax digital audio so that my one streamer can feed two DACs.- stanrozenfeld

iFi Zen Stream: Setup, Tips, Tricks...
Hi, I admit that I did not have a chance to read the entire thread, so apologies if this has been covered. I was comparing Tidal Connect between Wiim Pro Digital out and IFI Zen Stream. When playing high res files, I noticed that Wiim would play 24/96 and 24/192. Zen Stream would play...- stanrozenfeld

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
I am looking into a good dedicated streamer to hook up to Qutest. My only condition is that it has to be able to do Tidal Connect, so Chord streamers would not be suitable. Right now I hooked up Wiim Pro via coaxial/bnc. I don't think I heard any difference in sound quality between Ipad Mini...- stanrozenfeld

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
yes software is doing the decode although I have option to turn that off. One other question. I see in one place on Chord website that Qutest optical input goes up to only 96 khz. In another place it said 192 khz. I finally had a chance to test it. Playing a 192 khz file resulted in the...- stanrozenfeld

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
One thing I find curious, although it doesn't change my opinion of it.... I know qutest doesn't do mqa, and unfortunately there seem to still be plenty of "mqa only" tracks on Tidal. Anyway when I play mqa file, the sample rate light is yellow which is 88.7 khz. Why would it show that? What...- stanrozenfeld

I definitely will not open it or mess around with it. It does sound as what you described is exactly what's happening. At any rate, as ling as I don't mess with it while power is on there is no problem and sound is noise free snd quality is great!- stanrozenfeld

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
how can it be ground loop only part of the time? Also my source is an ipad, battery powered... can it still cause ground loop? It doesn't matter what input I use anyway... as the buzz is there on optical and usb.- stanrozenfeld

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
I did... I bought several more expensive rca interconnects... they clamp tightly and it takes more of a jiggle to start the buzz but it still happens. my main concern is.... when there is no buzz, is there still some sort of degradation or excess noise?- stanrozenfeld

It's long and continuous. But if I jiggle some more or disconnect and reconnect power the buzzing stops.- stanrozenfeld

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
Hello Again, everyone. I detected potential problem with my newly acquired Qutest.... although I am not entirely sure it is a problem. Whenever I jiggle cable at the rca outputs or change rca cables, I often, but not always get a buzzing noise in the headphones. If I disconnect power and...- stanrozenfeld
