The FiiO X1 Discussion and Help and Support Thread |192K/24B|100mW | LO | inline remote

Having said that, and assuming money is not an issue, would it still be better to get an X5 over a X1? I'm using Mad Dog 3.2s with a FiiO E12 amp, so I don't know if the differences will be all that noticeable, especially for $250.

The FiiO X1 Discussion and Help and Support Thread |192K/24B|100mW | LO | inline remote

Alright, I'm really interested. I wanted an X5, but that's a little out of my price range being a jobless college student. My only question before I pull the trigger would be in regards to pairing: I have a pair of MrSpeakers Mad Dog 3.2s, and the'yre currently being driven by a FiiO E12 Mont...

I'm using the E12 with my MDs right now. I have no other reference to other amps in terms of sound, but they definitely have the power to push the MDs. I know the E12 is a bit on the warmer side, and the sound stage is more closed, but I do really enjoy the sound.

Mr. Speakers Mad Dog 3.0 - 3.2 Amp Pairing Recommendation/Discussion Thread

The X5 sure does appeal to me, but I'm just worried about pricing: I'm positive I can't cover $200+ with selling my touch. Plus, the bluetooth is rather desirable on my touch to be honest. I hate messing with taking my setup in and out of my pocket, and my smartwatch lets me control my music...

Mr. Speakers Mad Dog 3.0 - 3.2 Amp Pairing Recommendation/Discussion Thread

Heh, probably should have said that. I'm currently using an iPod Touch 4th Generation (32gb), with a Fiio L9 Line-out cable connected to my E12. As for price range, probably no more that $150, though I could stretch it a bit.

Mr. Speakers Mad Dog 3.0 - 3.2 Amp Pairing Recommendation/Discussion Thread

Hey guys, probably a "noob question" here but still kinda curious. I'm currently driving my Mad Dogs with a Fiio E12 Mont Blanc portable amp. I love the sound as is, but I was wondering, would I benefit a good deal from adding a DAC to my setup? If so, does anyone know of a good portable DAC...

**MrSpeakers Mad Dog: Impressions and Discussion Thread**

I was just talking about this in the amp recommendation thread, but I'm currently using an E12 Mont Blanc with my Mad Dogs, and I really enjoy the pairing. The amp does give it a warmer sound and closes off the soundstage a little bit, but it still sounds really nice. It also has a lot of power...

Mr. Speakers Mad Dog 3.0 - 3.2 Amp Pairing Recommendation/Discussion Thread

Hey, glad I could help! Yeah, if portability is a big thing to you, then the E12 is a fantastic choice. Like I said, that's my current setup, and I really like it. I don't know what player you use, but little tweaks can be done with a parametric EQ if that's a possibility. Let me know how you...

Mr. Speakers Mad Dog 3.0 - 3.2 Amp Pairing Recommendation/Discussion Thread

Hi Dreaming,I currently own the MDs with the Fiio E12 Mont Blanc. The amp certainly gives the MDs a warm sound and closes off the soundstage a bit, but really it depends on your price-point and what you're using it for. If you're taking these with you on-the-go like I do, then you're probably...

After an afternoon and overnight burn-in, they sounded much better to me personally. Maybe I'm just hearing things, I don't know. Whatever the case, they sound amazing now.

**MrSpeakers Mad Dog: Impressions and Discussion Thread**

I've had my Mad Dogs for a few days now, and oh my god, I'm in love. EDM is a blast to listen to, and yet, acoustic tracks are so detailed! Everything from Pretty Lights to Hans Zimmer sounds absolutely fantastic, and they're not even burned in yet. I can't even wait until they are, but what...

Yeah, I began to think of that last night, myself. I'll be sure to do that.   See, that sounds nice. While I primarily listen to EDM (Pretty Lights, Kaskade, etc.), my tastes are all over the place. Coming from my ATH-M50s, some more bass would surely be appreciated. That's good news about...

Huh, that's pretty neat with the return policy. I didn't know they did that. Cool, thanks for the reply!
