That guy who posted the photo of the Ravens with the severed wires was me. I have swapped out the cables on multiple IEMs before, including the 3 pair of EE IEMs that I own. I used normal pressure to try to remove the cables, and not more. While it’s true that I didn’t use the wiggling technique...

FWIW, my Ravens were not exposed to temperatures less than about 55° F. They had been at room temperature for at least 24 hours before my disaster. I don’t know of any plastics or acrylics that become brittle at those relatively warm temperatures. I highly doubt that’s the problem.

I don’t think that we should bash EE over what happened to me until we figure out what went wrong. It could have been my fault, a design flaw or just a one-of issue. I’ll let you know what we learn.

I went for the gold, but would have preferred a custom faceplate similar to the pre-production demos that were floating around this spring.

Funny… I prototype think the faceplate looks great just as it is! Each to their own…

For me, the the appearance of the Raven prototype as pictured elsewhere in this thread is exquisite, and I hope that the final product looks quite similar.
