Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

That’s my experience, too! With my first pair, I destroyed the shell with just a slight tug to try to change the cable. With the revised pair, cable changes easily. Sound stages incredible. These sound like Odins but with deeper and more precise bass. A winner. Speaking of winners, EE’s...

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

An update: Both my dealer (Moon Audio) and Empire Ears (Jack and Leasah) have been incredibly responsive to my sad Raven story, and the IEMs will soon be on their way back to Empire Ears for replacement. For me, the true test of an an organization is how it reacts when things go wrong, and...

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

That guy who posted the photo of the Ravens with the severed wires was me. I have swapped out the cables on multiple IEMs before, including the 3 pair of EE IEMs that I own. I used normal pressure to try to remove the cables, and not more. While it’s true that I didn’t use the wiggling technique...

FWIW, my Ravens were not exposed to temperatures less than about 55° F. They had been at room temperature for at least 24 hours before my disaster. I don’t know of any plastics or acrylics that become brittle at those relatively warm temperatures. I highly doubt that’s the problem.

Ugh. I wish I had seen this thread before just now.I received my brand new Ravens last night and promptly destroyed them before I ever listened to them. I tried to remove the OEM cables to replace them with Moon Audio Silver Dragons. When I tugged a bit at the connector - and not very hard -...

Empire Ears RAVEN is Finally Here!

I don’t think that we should bash EE over what happened to me until we figure out what went wrong. It could have been my fault, a design flaw or just a one-of issue. I’ll let you know what we learn.

Empire Ears RAVEN is Finally Here!

CAUTION!!! I received my brand new Ravens last night and promptly destroyed them before I ever listened to them. I tried to remove the OEM cables to replace them with Moon Audio Silver Dragons. When I tugged a bit at the connector - and not very hard - the shell cracked in my hand, severing...

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

I went for the gold, but would have preferred a custom faceplate similar to the pre-production demos that were floating around this spring.

Anybody know when Raven will be available for retail sales?

Funny… I prototype think the faceplate looks great just as it is! Each to their own…

For me, the the appearance of the Raven prototype as pictured elsewhere in this thread is exquisite, and I hope that the final product looks quite similar.

iFi audio xDSD- The Official Thread

My xDSD, purchased new in last month, has stopped working. Though it powers on and the various controls seem to function, it is not producing any sound to a set of headphone that I know to be operable. When in USB in put mode, the unit produces no sound at all, and the volume control does not...
