I liked this. Thanks, I tried it for a few days and it’s different! Brain adjusts to it and it becomes definitely loud and clear. Having said that, for my pick me ups, I need 80+ and bass slamming in my ears.- spendthrift

@andrewski Atleast that placebo comes in a box and not a plastic wrap like my sandisk did. Enjoying music a lot in my sandisk + zm2. Rock on! :) BTW - my mdr z1r and ier z1r came in even bigger boxes and more luxurious packaging. (Did not ask me to keep the box level when opening though)...- spendthrift

This ^^ If the card we used was so crucial to achieving the best audio quality, am pretty sure Sony would have packaged it with the zm2 atleast - especially when they coated that frigging thing with gold and charges 4k USD. Edit - .. or made a 1TB ZM2 with no expandable storage .. to put an...- spendthrift

Thanks for all your responses. Personally, I think its the top 2, but not discounting 3rd. Change i notice is mainly in the bass area. Agreed to both of you that music enjoyment depends on how much focus you give to listening. While this may be playing into what am observing, I find it hard...- spendthrift

I have a question on daily warm-up of these DAPs. Search noob, i did not see this discussed, so asking - Do you all notice that after a cold start after overnight shutdown, the player doesn’t sound so good? In around 30mins or so, the bass opens up. (Zm2) Is it in my head or is warm-up a thing?- spendthrift

The Hi-Res sticker on the bottom left, did you add it? The US version I had did not have any such stickers except the walkman embedded logo on the right.- spendthrift

Exactly. That phone has a different focus (photography). Happens to have a 3.5mm headphone jack/adaptive/ldac thereby making it one of the, if not the best audio source in a phone. Should a satisfied galaxy or iphone point & shoot person jump to a xperia for audio? Wouldn’t think so, unless...- spendthrift

Chasing the best sound possible - it’s a slippery slope. And what you posted resonates with me. Probably you will not listen to anyone here and proceed with buying whatever it takes to get you the best sound possible with the px8.. only to have the next itch months down the lane.. what if I...- spendthrift

Briefly had the xperia 1V before I returned it. I was chasing the codec for perfection with that purchase. My PX8 connected via adaptive to the Xperia. TBH I didn’t notice a difference. TBH I wasn’t AB testing either. IMO if you have an iPhone/AAC or an android with aptx-HD, you are good.- spendthrift

Per the internet, yes. General consensus is that AAC is not implemented well in android phones.- spendthrift
