Audinst HUD-mini (final review and pics added 9-27-12)
Quote: I agree, that's one hell of a review. He's blog is quite nice too, google takes us to some interesting places sometimes... Almost everyone has the same opinion about HUD-mini. Mike was a bit too critical about the stock unit imo. Basically HUD-mini is a scaled down HUD-mx1 and...- spartan86

Audinst HUD-mini (final review and pics added 9-27-12)
Quote: Great idea! While I was going to write them about it, Audinst started to sell HUD-mini + OPA2227 on ebay for 135$ (it's just a mere 6$ more than unit's ordinary price). But now I'm torn between E10, HUD-mini and HUD-mx1. E10 is cheap and good, HUD-mini is a bit better and more...- spartan86

Thanks for clarification guys. I feel like I'm a little bit less ignorant now :) I'm still going for the stock unit, but will probably buy OPA2227 in the future. If I got you right, I need to decide for myself which sound sig I prefer.- spartan86

Thank you for more impressions. I did a little research and LME49860 looks superior in every way. Maybe he got a faulty chip as you said??? Here is a comment about these two Op-Amps: I'll buy it stock. From my experience Audinst is a very good company when it comes to price/quality.- spartan86

Thank you for the review. I'll be buying my own unit soon. My plan is to pair it with HD598. I think it's a good combination for a semi-mobile rig (laptop).- spartan86

Audinst HUD-mini
So one of my favorite companies Audinst is about to introduce a new product. They are doing a special sale this month. Can someone look at the specs and at least guess how is it different from HUD-mx1? There are no reviews at this time. I cannot decide which version of theirs DAC to buy...- spartan86

Audio-Technica Announces Revised ART Monitor Series, New Open Headphones
Can someone post update on a900x? I am really interested in mid-section. How do they sound with vocals (especially female)? The thing is that I want closed headphones from AT. I have experience only with AD series? Do a900x have the same sweet (coloured?) vocals as ad700/ad900? P.S. I...- spartan86

As far as I understand TAD series use a totally different driver. They are basically open versions of ATH-Txxx headphones.- spartan86
