the cable is fine.   it's the mixamp it isn't compatible with that cable.   it's hit or miss whether your 5.8 (wireless) mixamp works with the usb to 3.5mm astro cable.   google it there is hundreds of people with the same issue, it only works with some 5.8 wireless mixamps I'm guessing...
