[GUIDE] Sonic Differences Between DT770-DT990 Models & More

I don't know how they differ in specs. But specs are just numbers. You can not directly compare different headphones from specs, you can only judge them by listening to them. :) For a cheap dac/amp combo, I would recommend the Fiio E07K. It can easily drive 250ohm. I was hoping the ath-m50...

[GUIDE] Sonic Differences Between DT770-DT990 Models & More

You are using a headphone, that clearly needs an amp, unamped. The soundstage is not trash - your audio source is trash. If you use your iphone, go for in-ears, and don't bother going for the expensive ones. If you use your computer, check what audio output you have on your motherboard. If it's...

[GUIDE] Sonic Differences Between DT770-DT990 Models & More

I have only tried pleather on the dt-770 32 ohm. But velour on the dt-880 250 ohm, dt-990 250 ohm and dt-1990. It seems probable, that it will increase bass but decrease soundstage, as the velour will not make as tight a seal as pleather. But right now you're just going insane on details. It...

[GUIDE] Sonic Differences Between DT770-DT990 Models & More

Hi! I honestly don't think it needs an amp. What it DOES need, is a proper DAC. The DACs in iphones and macs are not as bad as others, but they are not very good/clean etc. when listened to with a good set of headphones. I have used the dt-770 32 ohm with a Galaxy S7, and it works. But I get a...

[GUIDE] Sonic Differences Between DT770-DT990 Models & More

Depends on what you want. I actually think most people agree, that the new dt-770 32ohm has an overall better sound than both the 80ohm and 250ohm. I really like mine, but since i got the dt-1990 i only use them at work. I haven't heard the Custom Studio, but I would think they are somewhat...

    16ohm? I haven't heard about that one. I have the 32ohm edition, and it's pretty nice. :)

[GUIDE] Sonic Differences Between DT770-DT990 Models & More

I have the dt770 32ohm, dt880 250ohm premium, dt990 250ohm and the dt1990 (I really like the beyerdynamic sound). I think the "recessed mids" on beyers are a litte exaggerated. They are slightly recessed, the bass is a little boosted (but not compared to cheaper headphones) and the highs are...

[GUIDE] Sonic Differences Between DT770-DT990 Models & More

Consider the dt-770 32ohm. From what I've read, they are possible better than boththe 80-ohm or 250-ohm. I have the 32ohm myself, but have not tried the others, so I can't do a comparison. But overall I really enjoy the sound of the 32ohm.

[GUIDE] Sonic Differences Between DT770-DT990 Models & More

I do not recommend the 250 ohms for laptop use. It WILL not be able to drive them sufficiently which will primarily lead to poor peak response in bass and treble. In theory, the 250 ohm should be better when properly amped, because it will do a better job of keeping unwanted buzzing and...

Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO! 250 ohm, 32 ohm, or 80 ohms?

I agree that the 32 ohms make it more susceptible to noise in the equipment. I run it through either a gaming motherboard (they have great dacs and amps nowadays) or when I'm at work through a fiio E07K. Neither of them give of a degree of system noise that I can detect. Even though the dt990...

Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO! 250 ohm, 32 ohm, or 80 ohms?

I use the 32 ohm dt770 for metal, and they are great. They sound more fun than the dt880 250 ohm, but less fun than the dt990 250 ohm. The dt990 become tiresome after some time when listening to metal because of their highs. In either case, the dt770 32 ohms are relatively new (2 years maybe?)...

[GUIDE] Sonic Differences Between DT770-DT990 Models & More

The DT880 is better for vocals (at least female vocals) and classical music.   Violins etc. sounds really, really good on the DT880. :)   I have not heard the t1 or t5p. And I have not heard the new DT1770 or DT1990. But from my understanding, they sound better than the cheaper models. And...

[GUIDE] Sonic Differences Between DT770-DT990 Models & More

I often use them 5-6 hours at a time with no problems. I have the dt770 32 ohms with pleather pads. They are comfortable, but the velour pads (that i have on both dt880 and dt990) are even more comfortable. I also have the ATH-M50x, and they tend to be annoying on the head after 1-2 hours.

I listen to alot of metal, including doom and funeral doom, and I have to say, that the dt770 does metal and rock better. It is just at bit more v-shaped than the dt880 (I have both). Even though the dt880 in theory should be better for games, I also prefer the dt770 because they block out...

[GUIDE] Sonic Differences Between DT770-DT990 Models & More

The dt-990 are harsh to your ears. I guess it's the price you pay for the V-shaped sound signature. :)   But if your like the m50x sound signature, why not just stick to that? The Beyerdynamic line all have a larger sound stage than the m50x, but I think the narrow sound stage on the m50x is...
