These can disassemble quite well. I did mine on one side when I was investigating options for the repair. You could disassemble and run new wire through *fairly* easily. There is some glue stuff holding the 55mm enclosure that was a little tedious. Nothing to lose now though!

Yep in dead silence I hear it but all it takes is some wind outside or another subtle noise and i don't hear it anymore... Or do but tune it out. It doesn't bother me which plays a big part. This is after phone on 60% vol (40% eq gain) and amp on full vol and +16 gain for a year so pretty good...

Lol! I eq'd mine with bass boost on so if I need to have a micro break from the head shattering bass I just flick it off for a bit. I drops off just enough to rest my head and then I can just flick it back on and boom boom boom.
