iFi Audio iGalvanic3.0 - The Holy Grail of Audio
I'm also curious how the iFi nano iGalvanic + micro iUSB 3.0 combination compares to the SOtM tX-USBultra. It's a shame that these two iFi devices aren't combined in one chassis to eliminate another cable and device in the chain..- sk3383

Reply to review by 'sk3383' on item 'W4S Recovery USB Reclocker'
@thatonenoob I do not find audio terminology confusing, rather people interpret things differently so I abstain from including them in my review(s). I agree, measurements would be a welcomed addition, however specs do not always tell the story of how a particular piece of gear will perform...- sk3383

New Beyerdynamic T1 (2nd Generation)
I was thinking the same thing, that we are getting off topic. I'm partially at fault. I don't post very often. However, I feel compelled to voice my thoughts and concerns. I am growing weary of visiting head-fi and reading about the HUGE improvements and other outrageous claims, not just...- sk3383

New Beyerdynamic T1 (2nd Generation)
All cables have a measured value of resistance, capacitance and inductance. I did state or imply earlier that generally a lower value is preferred for greater transparency, scientifically speaking. Although, some cable manufacturers dont necessarily aim for the absolute lowest measured result...- sk3383

New Beyerdynamic T1 (2nd Generation)
In my experience, cables can and do make a difference. A rather small difference (upwards of ~ 5 - 8%) However, I do not believe cables have a "sound". I agree, the differences can be traced back to electrical reasons as you put it (resistance, capacitance, inductance) I think...- sk3383

New Beyerdynamic T1 (2nd Generation)
There are many additional factors when having the conversation of singled ended vs. balanced headphone ouputs. Much of which, will vary greatly between manufacturers, designers, circuits, etc., etc. In addition to higher output voltage, which was brought to light earlier. Let us not forget...- sk3383

New Beyerdynamic T1 (2nd Generation)
There's nothing "wrong" with the original T1's. I think its safe to say, at least in my opinion, that Beyerdynamic must have had their ears to the ground so to speak, listening to the feedback from various publications ("professional reviewers") as well as the subjective views, comments...- sk3383

New Beyerdynamic T1 (2nd Generation)
spiderking31, I have both the HD650's and the T1.2's and i wouldn't call the Beyer's SUPREME. Thats seems excessive or an exaggeration. I dont think we should be spreading the headhone a is better than headphone b propaganda. Once you're in the high end game there is just different flavors of...- sk3383

New Beyerdynamic T1 (2nd Generation)
copajohn, The original/stock cable that comes with T1.2's is very good quality. Sure, they're are "better" cables that could possibly bring about a finite amount of additional transparency (~5%) but dont't expect the tonality to change or for cables to transform the sound in any way In my...- sk3383

New Beyerdynamic T1 (2nd Generation)
Thoughts!? Well for me, there were many aspects that lead me in the direction of the Beyerdynamic T1 over the competition. Heads up with the HiFiMAN HE-560 is relatively straight forward. Without getting into the sound quality war.. Not to bash HiFiMAN products as I thoroughly...- sk3383

ABX of Balanced VS Single Ended Headphone Setup?
Jon Sonne The difference between Balanced and Singled Ended has many factors. I think you are asking the wrong question. I concede, I am not an electricial engineer by trade, however I have a wealth of related experience in the subject. Firstly, we need to set some variables, guidelines if...- sk3383

I absolutely agree. Complete misconception. Peddling the thought that a colored headphone or any gear for that matter is wrong. Trying to convince people, that the most flat and linear frequency response is correct. Insane. Its just like how we relate tubes to "warm" sound when that...- sk3383

Upgrading Moda M100s and ATH-M50s: Sony MDR1-A?
Hello, My suggestion would be to visit local HiFi stores within a reasonable distance, that carry a range of headphones and try them out first hand. That being said, recently I visited Bay Bloor Radio (HiFi store in Toronto). They have a wall with approximately ~40 headphones under $400 on...- sk3383

alpha421 i hear u my brother. For me... it took a long time to realize the "better" the headphones and/or components got, the worst the sound became. I don't listen to 'audiophile-grade' recordings. I can appreciate classical, enjoy live Jazz, but I would rarely, if ever, listen to the 'Diana...- sk3383
