    MOTU M2

    I'd be interested to get your thoughts given a bit of time has passed now since you posted this. I currently have a Behringer U-Phoria UMC204HD as my audio interface and DAC, running into a Schiit Magni. However I've always thought that the DAC is a little lack-lustre to say the least in the...

    Left wanting... more!

    No, but my in-laws have a house near Sun City Center which we go to at least once a year for an extended holiday! Soak up some sun and warmth after the miserable wet and cold British winters! Are you running your Scarlett through a USB hub or directly? Also which model? I’ve got a dongle-book...

    Left wanting... more!

    First off, thank you @pichu & @ProtegeManiac for your responses. Yeah, that was my thinking too! Out of interest, what sample rate do you run your Scarlett on? I've been having issues with mine on anything above 48kHz, but I'm starting to think that leaving it alone on the 44.1kHz setting might...

    Left wanting... more!

    So what would you (or others!) say to a combo of Schiit Bifrost & Jotenheim (without the DAC)?

    Left wanting... more!

    And does anyone have any experience with the Schiit Jotenheim / Asgard / Lyr, and the internal MultiBit DAC?

    Left wanting... more!

    So I guess my question to you @phthora then is, what DAC would be paired well with the THX & Elex/HD 6XX? Or would I be best off keeping my Scarlett 8i6?

    Left wanting... more!

    I dont profess to be any kind of expert these days on headphones, DACs, Amps, Audio Interfaces, etc. and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations based on what I've got, and am looking for. Current setup: Sennheiser 598SE Schiit Magni Heresy Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 (3rd Gen) CL-1 Mic...

    X-Fi vs Xonar

    I'm going to throw in my advice; in my experience the Xonar cards driver support in Windows 7 x64 is awful. Worse than Creative bad. You want examples, take a look in my blog (link in sig) I've had nothing but endless problems with my Xonar.   Dolby Headphone I consider to be better than...

    Is audiophile PC gaming possible?

    Quote: Did I? Hmm.. Don't remember it but I possibly did, regardless... The JVC SU-DH1 is a great bit of kit, as is the MixAmp, but they just aren't good enough quality for me to recommend in my quest for an "audiophile" level setup. Another issue with them both is that their...

    Is audiophile PC gaming possible?

    Quote: I disagree, the title isn't misleading, you can still have an audiophile quality setup that you use for gaming. Also, CMSS-3D is (in my opinion) far inferior to Dolby Headphone; so don't knock it till you've tried it! ;)     Quote: It was useful in terms of...

    XtremeGamer->Amp-> DT 990 Question

    Nope, not done yet. There's more to come! Amps will probably be one of the last things I do however, as I haven't got one yet and I'd like to try a few first! I'm going to the Bristol Sound & Vision show next month, so I'm hoping I'll get to try some then.

    XtremeGamer->Amp-> DT 990 Question

    Quote: Yeah the E9 is meant to be good, hence why it's on my list of contenders... Just still not quite sure enough to buy it! The Goldring NS1000's are amazing, compared to my current gaming headset (Razer Carcharias) they blow them out of the water. I've been making a guide/blog about...

    XtremeGamer->Amp-> DT 990 Question

    Talk about off-topic!! What does this have to do with anything we are discussing!?

    XtremeGamer->Amp-> DT 990 Question

    If it makes any difference, I'm pretty much in exactly the same boat as you... However I think I'm going to use the line-out from my sound card, to a headphone amp and then to my Goldring NS1000's. That way I get Dolby Headphone (or not if I turn it off), a bloody good DAC and a bloody good amp...

    FiiO E9 Review

    Thanks guys that all helps a lot; the main reason why I want to stick with a sound card rather than an external DAC is because I want to use the Dolby Headphone feature when I'm gaming. While I understand that there are separate devices (JVC SU-DH1) that allow this, I doubt the DAC in a SU-DH1...
