Metal is not my main musical preference, but I listen to a fair amount of it (Prog mostly). I won the Elegia and think it is great for metal. I listened to the Flow at the same time I first heard the Elegia. The Flows are nice, but a bit tame by comparison. The punch of the Focal goes better...

I would agree that it is in between the Elear and the Clear. For me, that is a good thing as I greatly preferred the Clear. It is a bit light on the bass, i agree. I use the bass bump on my Ifi idsd micro bl amp/dac and when i do the bass is about right. FWIW.

Quite musical imho, not wonky. More so under better home conditions.

Hey. I spent about four hours at Can Jam on Saturday. I listened to just about everything in the $750-1500 price range. I wanted a closed back so I listened to the Elegia (with both the Woo wa11 and an Ifi iddd micro black that ifi let me borrow), Audeze lcd2 closed and lcd xc, Mr Speakers Aeon...
