Using a dimmer to create a nightlight. Advise appreciated!
Have you thought about getting a nightlight that is a little on the bright side and change the cover on it? IE, some paper around the cover or a plastic cover that's slightly darker? That seems to be better than a dimmer - could probably save on electric bills too. Most of the dimmers I've seen...- shafu

Just another newbie here, lost...
don't forget etys as an option. they will block out all the surrounding noise, but will give you amazing details. Also they are pretty neutral which, IMO, makes them perfect for classical music. Finally, they are portable and if you get the ER4P, they can be driven out of a portable player.- shafu

Favourite Movie Quotes!..
"everytime i try to walk away THEY PULL ME BACK IN" That's godfather 3. Another great quote: "Borodin: Then I will live in Montana. And marry a round American woman, and raise rabbits, and she will cook them for me. And I will have a pick-up truck, or umm... possibly even... a...- shafu

Car guys! First car help!
http://automobilemag.com/reviews/sed...sti/index.html Here's a comparo of the two cars that typify most of the reviews I've read. STi has the heritage and perhaps better looks/material/interior while the EVO is a better peforming car, although slightly. I read somewhere else that the STi has...- shafu

Car guys! First car help!
Have you tried doing some research at edmunds.com? They have a forum section where people talk about the pros and cons of cars (esp. the STi vs EVO). ditto on the G35 coupe. If you want sexy, a entry luxury car with some style has that. The STi and EVO looks young - chances are you'll impress...- shafu

MPX3 v. HR2/SR71?
Ric, You are welcome to swing by again to my place to compare the MPX3 with your SR71. I have VT-231 tubs in all three position (which sounds the best with my HD600s in my opinion). Problem is, I might be traveling so timing could be an issue. BTW - my 2 cents are the MPX3 has a much more...- shafu

Was that the best Rosebowl ever?
The rose bowl was pretty awesome to watch (although from someone who went to a Pac 10 school, it saddens me each time there isn't the classic Big 10/ Pac 10 match). The LSU vs Iowa game was also an extremely close game as well. The Iowa kid who caught the winning touch down pass was a 5th year...- shafu

UK V USA
Don't forget the British tradition of trickery. We might send in steath bombers and B52s to blow up a bunch of fake planes and tanks! That might tilt the balance towards a stand-off intially. However, in modern warfare with carriers etc., an island nation is actually easier to attack versus a...- shafu
