s2 780s driver not working
You said it - I shoulda known what I was doing to the warranty. I just wanted to clarify that the wires I pictured aren't disconnected from the usual attachment points. Makes me wish I knew how headphones worked.- secretasianman

s2 780s driver not working
Hi - the right side driver stopped working on my s2 recabled ultrasones. From head-fi, it seems like I might have melted the voice coil wire? This is not the first time one side stopped working; last time, I had to reattach a wire to a solder connection gone bad - probably a bad idea, b/c I have...- secretasianman

Woodied D2000 impressions, compared to S2 HFI-780
Hi y'all - first time posting any of my thoughts, but I've been lurking for a while. I apologize if my thoughts aren't organized. But woody-ing my D2000's was like landing on the moon – awesome, even sublime. I bought the Jarrah v3.0 from Lawton Audio (thought it was the last one on clearance...- secretasianman

Sony EX90 Modding thread!
Just my 2 cents - loved the cling film mod; I did the geranium mod out of boredom, but the difference wasn't drastic. My source is a mere sansa express and mp3's at 160 (I'm kicking the habit). I used a straightened staple to punch the hole in the cling film and to superglue the filter back on...- secretasianman

Anyone know what this movie was called?
I watched it maybe 7-8 years ago on PBS when I was really little... it was about a white guy who jumps off the Golden Gate bridge (I think?) over an asian girl, can't tell you more than that, except that leaping off bridges was a theme in the movie (I was maybe 10 at the time, gimme a break)...- secretasianman

Full Review : Beyerdynamic DT770-250
Great review... just one question - you ran the 770's straight out of your TB Santa Cruz with acceptable results, or was it only with the amp?- secretasianman

wood v.s. plastic: my first review!!!
Forgot to note: I'm doing all my listening out of a CT470 line-out, powered by a Fixup Mini (9v version). Does that explain a lot of my problems? Now that I can drop the sexual undertones - Tomcat: I understand what you mean by their ability to make you focus on the music - I was able to...- secretasianman

wood v.s. plastic: my first review!!!
Well, thanks to you guys I've bought, in chronological order, Senn MX500's, KSC-35's, HP890's, W100's, and hopefully some Ety ER-4S's. So let's cut the foreplay and get down to biznass... Being a virgin head-fier, i expect this review to end prematurely and be unsatisfying for both of us...- secretasianman

does people complain when you ware Koss KCS-35 in the train or bus?
Well, I got a complaint once listening to rock at a nice, loud level. I was in the study lounge (dead silence, more or less) and a girl about 15 feet away asked me to turn it down. Basically, if I could hear it she could too. When my friend listens to them at a reasonable level I can hear them...- secretasianman

help a newb out... ety er4's
Well, so far so good... but now I have some more ety questions... What kinda music do you guys prefer with the etys? I hear they have great attack and instrument separation (ability to focus on one instrument or just enjoy the big picture), which sounds like exactly what I want. How are...- secretasianman

help a newb out... ety er4's
Thanks to you guys, I now have Senn MX500's, KSC-35's, el-cheapo Sony's (for comp use), and a set of HP890's and AT W100's on the way. I thought I was on my way to audio bliss, but there's a bit of a problem. My roommate got a set of Logitech Z-560's (read: 13" subwoofer). Meaning that all...- secretasianman

Pics of mini META
Got my mini-Meta on Monday (or was it Tuesday?) - I ordered it on Sept. 19th-ish. Build quality was acceptable, although it was hard to get 9v batteries to stay in place while on the go - I ended up sticking a wad of paper in there to get it to stay. I'm powering it with a Plainview 9.6v...- secretasianman

Newbie about to take a quantum leap...
Well, I won a set of the W100's off of Ebay (1000 hrs of use, I should probably get the leather w2002 pads ) for 200 bucks. So I definitely saved cash by going that route, but the aural experience I hope is up to par. I'm not going with the HFI-650's YET because of the supposed comfort issue (I...- secretasianman

Newbie about to take a quantum leap...
Here's my situation - I ordered a pair of Senn HD280's ($75 from etronics.com) because I wanted some new closed headphones (for PC gaming/music of all genres) better than my cheapo Sony CD360's. When I realized that I had given them the wrong billing address (cancelling my order), I had a moment...- secretasianman
