What is the headphone that you will keep forever and never sell?

HIFIMAN HE6, but also love my Susvara and HE500. Just bought Susvara for the 2. Time.. It hits some spots really well but the HE6 is more dynamic with a similar tuning. Actually bought the Susvara to have as a frontier when trying HE6 on different speaker amps. After Fostex T50rp of course...

    Liquid Gold - 2014

Just got hold of a mint Liquid Gold (on loan), and it's absolutely amazing. Compared to the CFA3 it's more musical, warmer mids and bass. Smaller stage, and less controlled in the sub-sub-bass. Imaging is on par, and power the HE6 plentiful. Was surprised to read the reviews mentioning the...

    HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone

Make some groves with exacto knife, then apply a tiny dip of express epoxy. Maybe need to remove some old glue, see if any movement is causing the cap to pop off.

    HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone

That one only includes rods, you'll need the "yoke-kit" https://www.hifiheadphones.co.uk/products/audeze-lcd-yoke-replacement-kit-1079-kt https://www.audeze.co.uk/products/audeze-lcd-yoke-replacement-kit Looks like they are sold out, and have been for months.. Then Aliexpress would seem...

    HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone

Can find some replacements on AliExpress, but I found most of them to be of poor quality. Hifiman sells comfort headband, found this in UK, https://www.analogueseduction.net/headphones-headphone-cable-accessories/hifiman-enhanced-comfort-headphone-headband.html Quite expensive for what it is...

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

I’m not sure they are pure silver cables donated from a customer of mine. But really you can use whatever AWG you’d like, the 3.5mm connector I linked above have good spacing between the solder points EDIT: Considering you’d use a standard gauge for headphones, that said I think HE6 and HE500...

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

(I've converted 3 pairs of older SMC HIFIMAN to 3.5 mm) 3.5mm connectors, requires the least amount of drilling. The miniXLR will be a tight fit, avalable surface inside the driver housing is the issue. Every cable can be converted to balanced operation, just replace the connector for a...

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

Just random, my friend borrowed/stole the “thicker” arctic grill when he wrote a HE6 review (all-screws comparison, https://www.headphoneer.com/hifiman-he-6-three-originals-compared/) His 4 screw LP “won” the review, but the differences between all OG HE6 models is really nothing to use as a...

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

What overtones? HE500 shouldn’t have bothersome treble. If it does try the TP MOD (TP = Toilet Paper) or check your source, low power could make the inefficient HIFIMAN’s sound bright

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

HE500, 6-screw HE6 (tungsten modded, 3.5mm & NAN headband), 4-screw EP HE6 (Audeze Carbon headband, 3.5mm & arctic airflow grills) & in the back HE1000se) I’ve owned most headphones available, but few have come close to what the HE500 and the HE6 delivers. Their dynamics are just unmatched!

    HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone

Yes, but it might not make a huge difference. The HE6 driver is not really that much affected by good seal. The HE6SE are more prone to mid-bass boost (and sub bass roll off) when there isn’t a good seal. I would recommend to give the mod a try, but also change the grills to arctic cables...
