Low end. Cheap. Generic. Otherwise bang for buck cable thread!

My $1000 IER-M9 would like to disagree. The stock cable made it dark and enclosed in comparison to my current 8 core silver cable. Synergy is the word here. If you put a "brighter" cable onto an iem you already consider to be on the brighter and harsher side, it obviously won't go well.

My bad for not being clearer. What i consider an "improvement" is that compared to the stock cables that came with my FDX1 and Sony IER-M9, they made the sound a little clearer and more open with the soundstage and instrument separation improving accordingly as a result. I use the A1 cable fyi...

The RK3368 is uncooled, its just there on the pcb. I added thermal pads to the front and back of the pcb to spread out the heat better. However, the device feels warmer to the touch now because heat is actually being transferred away from the cpu. The RK3368 is a really really inefficient cpu...

Bad to good cables yes. Good to good cables not really. Diminishing returns past really good value and low resistance cables like the good Xinhs cables in rikudogoku's list

Looks like a warmer, darker, less rumbly but more midbassy CRA. I thought that the CRA needed to have a bit less midbass, not more so the CRA+ may end up being a CRA- for me.

Hate to burst your bubble but as far as data integrity goes these micron cards should be the worst. These are designed for high data density and thus use QLC nand. See here for an explanation. https://www.hardwaretimes.com/difference-between-slc-mlc-tlc-qlc-nand-ssds-which-one-is-better/ You...

I opened mine to try to solve the thermal problems and its much easier than opening a smartphone. Just apply heat to soften the adhesive and use a namecard to separate the glass from the body

Just got a few more pairs of CRA in for modding and the new ones are louder than my older pairs by about 20%. Looking at the drivers it seems like the tape part of the DD is oriented towards the 2 pin rather than the nozzle like the previous ones i've modded.

I just got the spring tips and imo they tighten the midbass ever so slightly and they refine the treble. I read that they roll of the upper treble but on my iems they clean the upper treble while not affecting the extension, if anything it makes it sound airier due the improved refinement.

The nozzle mod improves on the vocals and harshness a lot. Bass wise i feel that the CRA is already at the limit quantity wise but perhaps your library just needs more bassy sets.

Nozzle modded CRA is better than the Aria for cheaper. Just got to try it out last week. Better bass control, clearer more detailed sound overall.

Wonder how the capacitance of a cable from using thicker cables will affect the sound. Maybe its not conductivity thats making silver sound brighter than copper but rather their capacitance?

They are best used in hybrids to handle the highs. They don't do well standalone
