Replacing ER6i: $200 Budget
I had my ER6i for years, loved them with the triple flange tips. Sadly, I lost them on a flight and I'm looking for replacements in the $200 or so price bracket. Looking for: - Want isolation on par with the ER6i - Comparable sound signature to the ER6i, but would take more detail -...- schmoo

K701 + Headroom Amp, but which one?
How would it compare to the MicroAmp and the DesktopAmp? Would H5 now an MicroDAC later make sense?- schmoo

K701 + Headroom Amp, but which one?
Sorry about getting you and Jamey confused. I think you listed his email in one of your posts and I mis-interpreted it to be your contact info. Apologies. Thanks again for the info. Don't know if it made easier for me, but it helped.- schmoo

K701 + Headroom Amp, but which one?
Thanks for the input Jamey. One follow-up question related to your post about the effect of battery life on the MicroAMP. I believe that in an earlier post you mentioned that the MicroAmp did best with fresh batteries and that the A/C connection is inferior to a set of strong batteries...- schmoo

K701 + Headroom Amp, but which one?
After a couple of weeks with a DT880 and K701 from Headroom, I've decided to keep the K701, although the DT880 was really close and I'll miss them when I return them tomorrow. I'm playing FLAC files through Foobar (KS or ASIO) out of an X-Fi headphone jack. The consensus is that I should...- schmoo

Audition Over: Time to Bite the Bullet
Thanks for the feedback. Both phones bug little spots on my head (ear lobes and the bend in my jaw bone) over a listening session. The K701s are easier to adjust and reposition to get around this than are the DT880s, so I guess that's a plus for them, but I remain afraid of the stretch factor...- schmoo

ER6i's and burn in
Had my pair of 6i for about 6 months and haven't noticed a change in their sound. I too found the detail in the highs to be insane (I liked it), but over time, you adapt and eventually, as your subconscious ceases to be mesmerized by the highs, you start hearing more bass. I guess something...- schmoo

Audition Over: Time to Bite the Bullet
This thread follows on two earlier ones that led me to audition (from Headroom) a 2006 DT880 and a K701. I have to decide and ship back by Thursday this week and I'm torn. Sound: I seem to prefer the K701 by a very slight margin as the sound seems, to me, to be more continuous and fluid...- schmoo

My Head is Too Small!!!
The DT880 and the K701 arrived tonight. Both fit, but while I'm at extreme of the K701's fit, I'm farther into the DT880's range. Both bother my ear lobes, which are fleshy and longer than normal (wife says there "suckable"). Setting them up for burn in for a week minimum and final...- schmoo

Just got these two from Headroom and now trying decide which one to keep... argh... Listened to both a bit tonight, but will let them both burn-in (normal volume with normal music/radio) for serveral days before making any serious decisions. Honestly, right now the differences are so...- schmoo

Best EAC tutorial out there?
vYu223, I use the one you've been using for its coverage of drive configuration, which is key. I haven't seen the one supplied by vyusseem, but I'll take a look at it from home later. N- schmoo
