For me, only foam worked, and I found Comply TX-500 to be better than the out-of-the-box foam tips. Any silicone tips were bright. I'm not sure if the Comply is deeper, but I think they're pretty similar. Either way, you might want to try them to see.- Saraband

Best 4 IEMs Of The Decade!
Based on my personal evolution, but it hits upon many of the more popular IEMs over the past decade: Audeo PFE232 - Leant to me by a friend for several months, this was the first time I spent an extensive amount of time with any IEM. Until this point, I had been using and enjoying Koss KSC-35s...- Saraband

Can we keep the conversation focused on audio and this hobby we all love and leave the misogyny and transphobia out? It seems these days that this is one of the few online forums that's free of bigotry and divisive politics, and that's really a great thing.- Saraband

That was a really great write-up that I somehow missed. It sounds like the Oslo would be great for me. Thank you!- Saraband

Okay, I'm interested in hearing what you have to say. I'm using an EA Lionheart right now, and the impressions I've read make it seem like the Oslo signature is a touch better all around, especially according to @twister6 (who is spot on 100% of the time ), but I've read other impressions...- Saraband

Now that the Dita Oslo has been out for a while, does anyone have any updated opinions based on spending a lot of time pairing it with the U18?- Saraband

SONY NW-WM1Z / WM1A
Confession: I have a WM1A and just want an excuse to drop a lot of cash on a super high-end Sony DAP that's newer and does cooler stuff than the WM1Z, but it sounds like that's a long shot.- Saraband

I agree that the SE846 makes EDM and hip-hop very exciting (in many cases more so than A/U18), but despite that it has a lot of faults. In terms of excitement, a personal theory of mine is that its tiny soundstage makes everything more forward, almost as if you're trapped in a small room with...- Saraband

SONY NW-WM1Z / WM1A
I have a 1A + U18. I blind bought the 1A, so I wasn't able to compare, but for me, the decision was a matter of 1) Being skeptical as to the difference in sound quality, 2) Weight (I carry my 1A with me to and from work almost every day, and I live in NYC so I'm walking with it, as opposed to...- Saraband

SONY NW-WM1Z / WM1A
That's interesting. I have a Naim Mu-So Qb and Soundfreq Sound Rise clock/radio and it doesn't work on either. I wonder what makes it work on some and not on others. Like I said in my original post, my iPhone has no problem with this, so it's a little disappointing if the WM1A can only change...- Saraband

Thanks RobertP and wakajazz for confirming. Apologies for bumping my own post, but I'm hoping it might catch the eye of someone who has insight into how you might change the volume when playing over bluetooth. The "Use Enhanced Mode" checkbox in "Audio Device Connection Settings," says...- Saraband

SONY NW-WM1Z / WM1A
I have a question about bluetooth and controlling the volume on my WM1A. I'm on the latest firmware, and when I connect to a bluetooth speaker, I can't control the volume with the WM1A and have to do it on the speaker. When I connect my iPhone over bluetooth or Airplay, I can control the...- Saraband

For me, foam tips are the only type that worked with my U18. I too found the 64 Audio foam tips to be a tad small. I recommend trying Comply TX-500 (https://www.amazon.com/Comply-Cancelling-SoundPEATS-Symphonized-Replacement/dp/B002OOWBWK). The large size are a bit bigger than the stock 64...- Saraband
