I compared the Lavricables to the Cardas Clear and DHC Complement4. IMHO the Lavricables were massively better.

  I have one of the Lavricables' master silver for my He1000 V1. I can report that it totally transformed them, removing 90% of the qualities that I didn't like - reticent mids and hazy treble.

I find it unbelievable that the pads are not available.   Clearly, the product upgrade and it's repercussions on existing customers have not been thought through properly.   I have certainly been put off ever buying another Hifiman product.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE REPORT on how the V1s sound with the V2 pads on them !!!!!!!!!!!!   I don't know how many times this has been asked.   Most owners don't want to buy the V2s, or know how the V1 pads sound on the V2, they want to know how an $80 upgrade is going to affect their existing...

I heard the V2 today. It is a significantly better balanced headphone than the V1. It had better integration through the frequency range, better mids and treble, better focus, and even a more natural soundstage.   Will be interested in trying the V2 pads on my V1s.

  One extremely useful thing you could do in the short term, is to swap the V2 pads into the V1 and report the on the difference this makes.   There are a lot of us V1 owners who will not be trading in on the V2, but would purchase the pads as an upgrade.

  The stand probably costs $300 to make in the quantities that they expect to sell. So $3K is about right with the industry markups.   I know that we think that expensive electronics & headphones are worth the money, but they usually have the same high markups.

I doubt that they will provide the revised headband for existing owners.   I am sure that they will have the pads available, and I will definitely be interested in a pair of those.   Interesting that they are also changing the cables. The old ones were awful - probably the worst stock cable...
