Bad as in the sounds are odd. for example when i watch a video sometimes talking is louder in 1 ear. It's just bad, not sure how to describe it. The only way to fix it would be to go into windows sound and enable the 7.1.

That's the thing. You say the 559 should sound good without an AMP but it doesn't. When I plug them in now the sound is very bad. I'm using the HD 559s through my old headset 7.1 adapter to actually be able to have good sound.

I'm just worried I'll waste money buying the gsx 1000 if a DAC/AMP would sound better or something.
