Seems that you use microscope, which can make SMD soldering way easier )) I recently swapped ES9018 to ES9028. The biggest difficulty was to place it properly for all 64 pads)), for soldering I used JBC tips (one 'spoon' type and another with 0.4 mm chisel tip).

That has surprised me. Good multilayer PCB is difficult to destroy (I am sure Ibasso uses only quality components), I use desoldering gun (Den-On DN-SC7000Z) it is very rare when pads come off, only if PCB is overused)).

Can you clarify one thing please? You mentioned that you use headphone output of AMP8 as line out.. My understanding that line input of amplifier expect certain impedance (to match typical 47K) and Vrms (which vary but still around 2.5V typical)... Any problems using AMP8 to feed amplifier?
