Android phones and USB DACs
Well... it's a great place to listen to the music loudly, with tactile effects, without harassing anyone :) Then the ambient noise is not an issue anymore, and with some EQ you might get the acoustics okay sounding :)- S3TUP

Android phones and USB DACs
These (and similar LipSync) ICs, they do it in digital domain: http://www.ti.com/product/tpa5050 Will need to split and merge I2S channels, might be a glue-logic hack (LRCLK-driven MUX gate on the DATA trace). For R channel i'll get the LipSync delayed data, and for L channel - "before...- S3TUP

Android phones and USB DACs
Thanks! I might mix the options with Neutron's software PEQ and a time-delay in hardware (i design DACs on daily basis so it won't be much issue AFAIK, i already have some IC on my mind for the delay...). Or go with beaglebone with an android phone as a remote... Well, this will require...- S3TUP

Android phones and USB DACs
Oh my. I'm trying to figure out how do i replace my old iRiver h120 in the car with a brand-new-awesome-android-phone. I'm looking for an app to be able to... 1. Play music, including lossless stuff 2. Handle directory-based navigation 3. Have DSP plugins with open-source framework...- S3TUP

Bijou All Tube Futterman Headphone Amplifier
What are limitations of B+ supply? I think of rolling-up the currents... My trafo is rated for 200ma, and i use just ~66ma. The issue i try to deal with: There is some threshold in the amplifier. It sounds like "noise gate" - i hear the large-signal music and it's low-signal...- S3TUP

Quote: There is reason for such ascetical design :) I have'nt found any push buttons that could pair with my cases - so - no buttons. Power switches on the back are fine too. The TRS jack socket looks ugly imho, i have already ordered a proper one from Neutrik (with metallic hex...- S3TUP

Bijou All Tube Futterman Headphone Amplifier
Yay, it's working :) On my ol' 565 sens - just for testing. Weirdly enough, it doesn't produce any hum although the power transformer is so close to the circuit. Probably star grounding and shielding signal wires helped a bit... The thing which worries me - are the clicking/popping...- S3TUP

Bijou All Tube Futterman Headphone Amplifier
Ok, it seems i'vefigured out what's the problem. The transformer seems to be weak. The trimpot regulates well the 240-246v, but it won't let me rise the voltage up to 250v - nothing happens when i turn it futher. I've got pretty high load with these russian tubes, so maybe CRCRC...- S3TUP

Bijou All Tube Futterman Headphone Amplifier
The mosfets are right, caps too... Cleaned-up the tubes, removed thermal insulation tubes off PS CRCRC resistors - the amp quit smoking Hm... The behavior of +250v of mine: Slowly rises during startup (10-15 sec), up to 252v. (it stays at zero for 5-7sec , then rapidly...- S3TUP

Bijou All Tube Futterman Headphone Amplifier
Hi, tomorrow is the day. I have already powered it up, but it smoked a bit, so i'm asking for your advice: Should i let him smoke for a hour? By "smoke" i mean the scent of something getting hot. Burning oil on the tube's surface, paint on power supply resistors e.t.c? Probably i should...- S3TUP

SOHA II Builders Thread
Hi all! I've run into some problem with a power supply: The SOHA II requires 2x15v 1a PS with 300ma tubes. 30v*1a = 30VA. All i have are: 15x2 18va x7 15x2 25va x1 And i plan to use russian tubes (6.3v 600ma heaters). Therefore i need to get 1.5A PS for the whole board...- S3TUP
