Thank you for posting this, I learned a lot from your tutorial.  I used what I learned from your tutorial and applied it to a different approach.  Using Equalizer APO to make the adjustments allowed me to apply the filter to the sound driver so it works with everything, not just the music...

Does the K712 have less clamping pressure than the Q701?  The Q701 clamping pressure is a little too high for me.

Just got my Q701's recently and thought I would share my opinion on them.  I am using these with an optically fed Fiio Taishan DAC and a Shiit Asgard 2 amp.  For anyone wondering how the Q701 + Asgard 2 work together, I will say it works fantastic.  Alot of body and some warmth, not fatiguing...

Does anyone know if the K702 were all Austrian made?  I am sure China does a good job making the Q701, but I don't want it.  If I am investing in an Audiophile headphone, I prefer one that was not outsourced due to cost, even if it costs a little more.  To me it makes it more of a collectors...
