I've been using them with the ifi hip dac with Amazon music and they seem to work well together. I just added a balanced 4.4 cable to the mix and I did notice an improvement in seperation, soundstage and the bottom end sounds fuller. Is it placebo? Idk, but I do perceive it to be there.

I'm interested in your thoughts on the Verite closed as I have been considering picking them up as my only pair of headphones or keeping the Elegia as my closed back and picking up an Aeolus.

I have the hip dac and it does fi in the case with the stock cord. If you have a much longer cord it might get tight. Not sure about the bass. The bass boost on the hip dac does fill out the low end pretty well. I still eq a couple dbs

Its so hard to tell isn't it...I've decided that even if it's just a perceived improvement it increases my satisfaction so if the cost isn't outrageous it's worth it.

I agree. I think I'll adjust in time and considering bargain that these can be had at it's worth giving them some time.

It's a different sound than I'm used to and there is something about it that I appreciate. I just might need a little more brain burn or maybe something like the Aeolus to compliment them.
