I've never opened up the Ultrasone cups, but I do know the position of the driver is decentralized, but is it necessarily angled? As far as I know, this just means the driver is positioned down and forward. On top of that, the sound is coming out of that weird hexagon shape? A patent would help...

Well I'll be stationary with the Q40s anyway. They have normal sized 3.5mm cables. I'll just buy both and see for myself.  SQ is the goal!   I would do Mogami, but I've never soldered nor do I have a soldering iron.
