Anyone encounter the K7 making a click sound then seemingly going into a standby mode with the two front LEDs blinking and no audio being outputted until you perform a power cycle? Is this some sort of overheat protection perhaps?

As far as I can tell, compared to the prior 3 K7s I’ve owned before this, the ring has the same brightness and there’s no way to manually change this or the color (outside of adjusting the sample rate).

Received a new K7 today. So far no volume drop issues. Will keep everyone posted or any issues.

Looks like it’s back in stock on Amazon. Hopefully they’ve addressed this issue with the newest batches, going for a 4th try.

Glad there’s been so much activity lately. I’ve been on the sideline since I had been waiting for something official from FiiO regarding the volume drop issue and had returned all 3 K7s over a month ago. I’d like to pick it up again but I’d like to avoid the roulette, if possible, this time...

I ordered two for myself (one after the first one exhibited that behavior), and one as a gift (which turned out also had the issue). So yeah, all three were problematic. Mind you I ordered all of them around November-December so things may have changed for the better since, but ofc won’t be...

This sounds very odd, I’m curious if “disassemble” is actually the intended verbiage. In any case I’ve returned all 3 of the K7s I purchased and will try a 4th time. Hopefully it’s just an issue with the earlier batches.

Someone earlier mentioned using both of this and still had the issue, seems like some units are just defective.
