There is not clearly mentioned that USB, HDMI, TOSLINK cable cannot run 100 meters. But for example ethernet cable can :) I2S may work longer than 0.5m or may not. Depends on many factors For example here are recommended Kitsune i2s-hdmi cables...- roger7

0.5 m for I2S interface is very long. I2S was developed for very short internal distances between a transport and DAC many years ago. For example in CD player. So there's no I2S standard- roger7

You can't use mck/wck because NAD M51 has no input for it. I'm using Squeezebox Touch -> USB -> Singxer SU-1 -> digital XLR -> NAD M51 -> XLR -> Plinius SA 103 (power amp)- roger7

Thanks, Yes, I know. Galvanic isolation, DDC with different interfaces, recklocking, DSD/DoP to PCM conversion, word clock, etc. Real Swiss army knife in a one box. Not all of us can have all these nice boxes in the room. And F1 has some sort of galvanic isolation too. Summing up (in...- roger7
