Yeah, I have the 990s and the K701s, and neither would be good for what you want. I'd give a slight edge to the 990s for bass, but the highs really are fatiguing, as said here. Though, if you want to try the 990s, my ebay auction ends soon and they're hovering around $150.. see the sig.

Well, there are a couple of things to consider. First, going digital and using the dolby or dts encoder means the logitech is doing the decoding. So, if you're watching a DVD or movie with a dolby or dts track, the PC has to decode that then re-encode it and send it to the logitech which decodes...

if tweezers don't work, boil your head for about 4-5 hours. Once all the flesh is flensed off, the tip should just fall out of the ear canal.

I bought mine at GC and the guy let me try a pair first, but he was snotty about it. All in all, I prefer not to shop at that place as every person I've dealt with there lacks good customer service skills.

DT770s are like strapping sub woofers to your head. This isn't necessarily a good or bad thing, just how it is. The isolation is fantastic, but the mids and highs are a bit recessed. I've not heard the 595s, but if you can DT990s for the same price, you might consider those. I'm selling mine...

There's a 650 in the for sale forums for $290 USD, so buy something like that and save the rest for an amp.
