Use my Music Hall 25.3 upgraded with a vintage Siemens CCA tube and Burson Supreme Sound Opamp V5 connected to my iMac 21.5 " 4K and a Jolida FX-10 with 4 vintage Mullard EL84’s and 2 vintage Telefunken Yellow Tip 12AX7’s. All tubes from Brent Jesse’s audiotubes.com. Use Sonic Studio’s Amara Luxe for playback.
Vinyl recording is through a Pro-Ject Tube Box DS with two vintage Telefunken Red Tip 12AX7‘S. Turntable is a vintage Denon DP-62L with a Denon 103R cartridge. I use Channel-D’s Pure Vinyl Recorder for my vinyl capture. Mac Mini i7, 16 GB RAM and fusion drive is the primary storage with multiple 4TB removable drives for archiving.
I use MusicScope by XiVero (on SourceForge now), DrOffline MK II by Maat Digital, Spek.cc to analyze my files and dBPowerAmp 2024.2.1 to rip from CD into lossless FLAC.
Favorite digital masters: the SH DCC of Van Halen I, SH mastering 7 of Aja and the 24k AF of Elton John’s Rock of the Westies, mastered by Kevin Gray. Was lucky enough to own each of these and pass them on at fair prices to forum members. I also think the MFSL of the Guns N’ Roses catalog is excellent as is The Cars S/T in both MFSL and DCC.
Love the Brandon Lynch remix of Champagne Supernova by Oasis and everything by Noel Gallagher.
