Don't be a fanboy for this product. The card wasn't failing.

Cayin N3 Hi-Res DAP with AKM4490 DAC, apt-X Bluetooth, and Line, USB & Coax Out for $150

Like I said. When I put the card into the computer it says "please format to use". Im doing a data recovery scan to see if I can save myself hours and hours of work to restore everything but I don't have high hopes.

Cayin N3 Hi-Res DAP with AKM4490 DAC, apt-X Bluetooth, and Line, USB & Coax Out for $150

This thing just wiped out a 128 gb ultra sandisk sd card with over 2000 flac files (which I stupidly didn't back up since 2015). Be warned. I'm just hoping I can use a data recovery app to get them back. How it happened; A flac song I normally listen to froze the cayim every time I tried to...

Cayin N3 Hi-Res DAP with AKM4490 DAC, apt-X Bluetooth, and Line, USB & Coax Out for $150

Low impedence with these se535 sounds best to me. I don't think the sound is muddy out the box. It's very detailed. Mids and mid bass sound really good with a ton of detail and fair amount of impact and swing. If I switch to mid gain or high gain the sound becomes more muddy and congested...

Cayin N3 Hi-Res DAP with AKM4490 DAC, apt-X Bluetooth, and Line, USB & Coax Out for $150

I use low gain. With my se535 low gain is fine. My review seems harsh but I actually think it's a really cool dap. The sound quality is "fun" because the mids are so forward and detailed. I miss the more expansive swing, impact and soundstage of my htc microstreamer compared to this but it's...

Cayin N3 Hi-Res DAP with AKM4490 DAC, apt-X Bluetooth, and Line, USB & Coax Out for $150

Just bought one after getting tired of problems using a dac with a mobile phone. I bought an lg g5 because of the B&O dac and that was a colossal failure. Typically I use a hrt microstreamer. Using either of these with a phone became a cumbersome and frustrating experience as the slightest bump...

Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread

Most of the aftermarket cables I've seen are worse quality or total con jobs next to the stock cables. I like the stock cables except the metal bendable over-ears part. I think that is unnessesary. That part is also prone to cracking. I've had to replace my cable because of that (and had a small...

New HTC One M8 audio review

Just get a small dedicated DAC like the HRT Microstreamer or Geek-out. It will make any phones audio out sound like a tin can in comparison. iphones are a joke.

New HTC One M8 audio review

Not for sound quality alone. Better to buy a dedicated DAC for SQ. A dedicated USB DAC will destroy any phones sound quality generally.

SE530/535 Acoustic Filter Mod: More SQ improvement than cables? Dampers!

Mine isn't so loose it will fall out really, and it affects one side more than the other. Basically I was removing the wire from one of the buds and the damper shot across the room from the force of it. Or if I give it a strong tap it will pop out. It's loose enough I won't wear tips that don't...

New HTC One M8 audio review

Ah, sorry. Thought you meant the stock earbuds that come with the M8.   The M8 is fairly detailed but the sound is pretty flat and cold. I guess I am just in love with my HRT Microstreamer. It's so nice sounding that I can't help but use it even if it's a bit awkward having to attach it...

New HTC One M8 audio review

I tested them out after using only my HRT Microstreamer and Shure SE535 with the M8 for about 2 months. I got a chuckle out of it. They sound really weird compared to what I am used to. Like listening to an old AM radio or something.

Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread

Are you using the rubber tips or the foam? The rubber tips sound weird to me and have the same disorienting affect you mention. You might not be getting a good seal either.

    Android phones and USB DACs

The Shure 535 are nice. I own a pair. They are more the sound character of Sennhieser headphones though. They are slow earbuds (similar to hd650) but warm and natural sounding. They aren't as detailed nor do they have the same impact as the HD650 but they are still very nice and have a...
