    Experiences with Bryston BHA-1 headamp?

Thinking about buying one of these. Only thing I'm worried about is whether it will be too loud when using it out of a Gumby. Does anyone here have any experience using this amp with a Gumby. My set up would be Gumby XLR > BHA-1 > Aeolus and HD600. Thanks

Campfire Audio - Introducing 2 new models Hello Andromeda and Nova

Andromeda's respond to higher or lower output impedence. You should try them with a number of sources and make out what your preferences are. Some people like them better out of something with OI as close as to 0 as possible some like them out of something with a OI a bit higher. On my IEM match...

DAC Amp Pair For A System With Low Power Requirements

Schiit Modius and Magnius seems to be cheap and good for IEMS because of 0.5 gain option.

    Seeking DAC/Amp Recommendation

Save up for a Crane Song Solaris. They can be found used for less than 1500.

    Seeking DAC/Amp Recommendation

My advice would be to save up for something much better.

    Best IEM around €1000,-

I listened to all three for hours and all have their strengths and weaknesses. At that price it's more about personal preferences to me. The Ara's have a very different sound presentation compared to the Andromeda and Solaris so it wouldn't make much sense to upgrade from an Andromeda or Solaris...

Astell & Kern SR25: The next A&norma player

Criticism is good though! I welcome it.This isn't a fan thread. I have no experience with Daps other than the ones i auditioned when I bought my SR25. I don't really feel a wobble when I use it but I can't compare it to older A&K models. The case I bought makes it not really stick out that...

Astell & Kern SR25: The next A&norma player

This would be a disappointment for me if I couldn't use Qobuz offline with a 1tb microsd. Have you tried other cards? Does Qobuz not work at all anymore when you downloaded 170Gb or does it freeze and crash when you're trying to download music? Thanks

    ZMF Aeolus Impressions thread

Haven't checked in a while. I bought my Aeolus a year ago and have been very happy with them ever since. One of the few good things about the pandemic causing me to spend more time inside is how it gives me more time to relax and spend time listening to them. In fact so happy that I spent most...

    Best IEM around €1000,-

Or buying the 2020 version of the Solaris or Andros. Aras are great too.

    Best IEM around €1000,-

I know this won't be very helpful but listening to IEMS is invaluable and worth it when investing that kind of money. I did months of research myself, watched every youtube video, read all the reviews and was sure I would like the CA Solaris the most of all IEMS in the world. I found a great...

Astell & Kern SR25: The next A&norma player

Thanks! I know absolutely nothing about micro SD cards. There are not a lot of options for 1tb disks though and they're quite expensive still. Maybe it's wiser to buy a 512gb card and see how far it will take me. When using the SR25 with andromeda's through the balanced out I have the volume at...

Astell & Kern SR25: The next A&norma player

Thanks Luis Mad, just installed the AK drivers and Audirvana recognised the Dreamus immediately. Works lovely. I have been enjoying this DAP with my also new Andromedas since saturday. Agree, wifi range isn't great but so far it hasn't been an issue for me. Now I'll have to find a decent 1tb disk.

Is it foolhardy (or wasteful) to buy top-notch headphones without a top-notch amplifier?

Some quick points. The problem is the internet and the overuse of hyperbole. In my limited experience amps and dacs matter but the differences are usually more subtle and nuanced that you'd read on most threads here. And that's fine. Because nuances do matter when you're investing time and...
