iBasso DX160 - The listening experience only gets better and better. ******NEW FW 1.09 - link 1st page.******

Thanks Jamato, that is good to know. Seems like the Pentaconn jack should be sturdier. And the fact the DX160 has a hardened glass back and is built on a stainless steel plate means iBasso is trying to make it pretty durable. I spend a lot of time listening and really appreciate great sound...

iBasso DX160 - The listening experience only gets better and better. ******NEW FW 1.09 - link 1st page.******

You are right! It is an obstacle course!!! I guess I have been lucky, I bought several Sansa Fuze (the original with the aluminum case) many years ago and they have been amazing. Summer, Winter, sweat, bugs, cutting lumber and felling logs, keeping me happily entertained along with my Westone...

iBasso DX160 - The listening experience only gets better and better. ******NEW FW 1.09 - link 1st page.******

I'm wondering if someone who owns one of these and/or Paul can answer a question for me. I'm interested in the DX160 mainly for its sound quality and the 4.4mm balanced output. But I need to know if it is built rugged enough to actually withstand daily use as a portable unit while doing physical...

    ibasso dx50

This post is old but I'm really glad it's here. Could be that noone else will need this since this player is now pretty old but it saved me. This info is not available from iBasso or anywhere else on the web that I was able to find. So thanks very much to the OP if you are still around Head-Fi...

How to convert itunes songs to mp3 for Sansa Fuze and keep tags?

I bought my daughters Sansa Fuze players since I really like mine and use it to play Flac files from my HD collection. Sounds great with my UM2's, works like a charm, no issues. Problem is they have quite a few iTunes individual songs they want to play on the Fuze's. Fuze won't play iTunes...

Benchmark DAC1 now available with USB

Why is there not an AES input on the HDR? Some of the high end sound cards (Lynx) do not have spdif.

So then class equals speed? - and the regular SDHC cards are available up to class 6? Is class 2 a limiting problem in playback of flac files in terms of SQ? What about using a reg. to micro adaptor to use with the Fuze so you can utilize a higher class card?

    Best SQ DAP playing flac

Not sure I understand the difference between the cards - Micro is obviously smaller but is it not as good? The Fuze uses micro SD or SDHC. There are a lot of different brands - Kingston, Sandisk, etc. Which are best? Does it make a difference?

    Best SQ DAP playing flac

I went for the 4 GB Fuze from Newegg - $48 including shipping, couldn't resist. I'm holding off on the Micro SDHC for now to see what prices do. I saw a 8 GB for $16 - I guess I could get two of those and swap them out as needed. I'm going to research the iMod more as well. That may be the...

As far as cost goes I can't go sky is the limit but if the sound quality is worth spending $500 I'll do it. So I am curious about the iMod and Rockbox - can you give me more info. or some links? And the UM2's are 27 ohm, very easy to drive. The Fuze sounds like a good option too and certainly...

    Best SQ DAP playing flac

I need recommendos for a DAP that will play flac files. I am mainly concerned with getting the absolute best sound possible, the interface is secondary so long as it is functional. I won't be playing video or using it to record. My earphones are Westone UM2's. My files are ripped to flac...

The best option to use coaxial out from a desktop?

I have the 9652 and am very happy with it. The sound is crystal clear, great dynamics, big soundstage. It is significantly better than my EMU 0404 USB. I also use it for recording with Sonar and it truly shines in that application as well. I can't speak first hand to any other high end...
