    Replacing drivers for Beyerdynamic DT880

Yes, if you need to replace both drivers, it's cheaper to buy the whole DT880 second hand (and hope that drivers are OK).

    Replacing drivers for Beyerdynamic DT880

I went through A LOT of Beyerdynamic headphones over the last few years and repaired many of them. The common problems that cause buzzing in the bass region are hair on the membrane (those can usually be removed), deformed coil (game over), unglued membrane (game over, at least for me, I haven't...

    Beyerdynamic DT770 / DT880 / DT990 driver (new version) polarity marking

I replaced the driver and the polarity is OK. This further confirms that in recent Beyerdynamic DT770/880/990 drivers with a stamp like the one pictured above, the positive (hot) connector is marked with 1, the negative (ground) is marked with 0.

    Beyerdynamic DT770 / DT880 / DT990 driver (new version) polarity marking

Thanks, that actually helped. The YT videos I saw before only showed older type of drivers (with 3 wire posts and pen marking). But now I found a more recent video (from this year) with the latest driver type and the guy confirms that 1 and 0 on the stamp do mark the positive and negative...

    Beyerdynamic DT770 / DT880 / DT990 driver (new version) polarity marking

That's obvious but doesn't help with these particular drivers at all. Unlike most mass production drivers, Beyerdynamic drivers do not have consistent polarity within a model (certainly), or even a manufacturing batch (probably). Meaning that you can have 2 identical Beyerdynamic DT880 600 ohm...

    Beyerdynamic DT770 / DT880 / DT990 driver (new version) polarity marking

I have to replace a dead driver in DT880 (600 ohm, recent version). I've bought a replacement and have a small problem. On older drivers, Beyerdynamic used to simply mark the hot (+) post side with a colored marker, so it was really easy to figure out which post was hot and which was ground. On...

Nobsound NS-08E also know as Nobsound 6J9 hybrid tube amp

I did - sort of. I had to go by memory because my original version already had stock tubes replaced with Russian ones and I had to rely on my memory comparing it to my friend's revised version with stock tubes. My impression was that they were similar with stock tubes: not bad, but definite room...

    The Beyerdynamic T51p Discussion Thread

I used this cable, the quality is decent. Diameter should be OK for T51 cups.

Nobsound NS-08E also know as Nobsound 6J9 hybrid tube amp

Did Nobsound NS-08e change from 9pin to 7pin? Yes, in 2018 I think. Old version - 9 pin, new version - 7 pin. It has been discussed here, unfortunately sometimes you have to read the whole thread, not just 1 old post.

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

Do you have an MMCX-terminated cable you really want to use? I'm asking this because I have very bad experience with MMCX connectors on HP wires, they become intermittent very fast (in my case a few weeks of moderate use). I actually modified the Onkyo headphones I have to replace the MMCX...

    Cheap replacement cable for HD477 / HD497 / HD212 Pro / eH250 / eh350 (Sennheiser part number 083380) will fit HD700.

OK, in that case your best course of action is to try with a different cable. That will tell you where the problem is.

    beyerdynamic T51p & T51i impressions thread

Yes, in one pair. It was either the cable itself or the remote (I have T51i). The other had a driver problem (lower volume) and a cable problem (intermittent sound). Recable the T51. Either yourself, or pay someone to do it. Not all headphones. Dt770/880/990 have decent cables, not great but...

    beyerdynamic T51p & T51i impressions thread

Could be a cable issue or a driver issue. If its a T51i and the right channel, it could also be the remote. No way to know without trying with a different cable. From what I read, the cable is a much more likely cause, but I have 2 pairs, both had this problem, in one case it was the cable, in...

That's not a QC problem, that's a cheap materials problem. Almost all "portables" suffer from this, especially when it comes to cables.
