That's why I use a MacMini with toslink output to Yggy. Best of all worlds. Full library, better transport than USB, and convenience.

For a lay person, what's the best way to test tubes to see if they're bad? Back in the day you could take it to a hardware store but unfortunately those times have gone away.

I live in Minneapolis and have an extra set of adapters...

I've been using the Mjolnir 2 with Schiit's phono preamp and really like the Telefunken e88cc/6922. Really nice combo. I have JHAudio IEMs and they're just too sensitive for the Mjolnir 2. Even on low gain there is still an audible hiss in the background.

I've got a Mjolnir 2 and Yggy to bring in if anyone is interested.

I turned off the Mjolinr 2, unplugged the only source hooked up (Yggy), and it did the same thing.

It occurs after a click is heard in the Mjolnir and then stops after 15-20 seconds like is shown in the video. I'm sure turning on the amps after about a minute will prevent the issue but now I'm curious what it is. Since it's pulling and pushing the speaker drivers, it seems like the polarity...

Does this happen to anyone? What's going on? I keep the Yggy Bel Canto 600Ms on all the time. The Yggy and amps are hooked up with XLR cables. The gain is on low.

Thanks for the input! Interesting on your BNC recommendation. The Bel Canto founder (John Stronczer) has done an interview where he said to use optical to decouple the systems... Which they're probably doing with their Black hardware. Here's a link to the interview:  ...

Does anyone have experience with Bel Canto links vs. Yggdrasil's built in USB/optical out from a Mac? Impressions or info on Yggdrasil's USB jitter specs would be appreciated!

I've got a nice little stack of Schiit going on now... Really nice soundstage and musicality right out of the box. Reminds me of being the artists concerts I'm listening to. Brings out the details like my JH16s without pumping the volume. Thinking of ways to shorten the signal path but it sounds...
