I am also using Fidelia, and it doesn't sound like Fidelia is the problem. Why don't you try opening "Activity Monitor" and examine what processes are taking your CPU power most?   J.

For me, I would go for Grado SR 80i. You would be missing a lot if you have never tried Grados, IMV.   J.

I would go for DENON. They are such a joy to listen to, particularly for music with some serious bass. I don't agree that they are "muddy". I sometimes feel stuffy due to them being closed headphones. I am selling mine because I am soon moving to another country and they are too big for my taste...

My (limited) listening experience tells me Denon Ah-d2000 is the most neutral one that I have tried.   J.  

Intimate and sparkling would be the key words for my listening to Grados.   J.

I have had mine for over a month now, I think. I should say they rather surprised me. They were smaller than expected, and lighter and felt somewhat cheap to me at first.  But you know what? I think they are my main casual and sometimes some careful listening headphones. They offer good base...

Perhaps some low-end grados?
