CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
M2 is a marvelous little piece. Using it battery operated with headphones and toslink input its floating isolated and gives organicly smooth HF noise free sound. Make it Mscaled and imo you get real close to TT2 and near stock Dave performance. Imo TT2 wins out in headphone drive power, Dave...- Reactcore

Thankyou Rob for this. Can you tell what that system was made of? Was it a direct out of Dave to crossoverless single driver speakers? I understood from reading alot (and my own experience) that that is the most transparent setup -
Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
Yeap i find mostly original 44.1 redbook to sound better than high res. versions. I have quite some double albums.. one from HDtracks Qbuzz etc. and an old CD rip of the same where the latter Mscaled sounds easily hearable clearer with better depth. Rob's WTA algorytm does a much better job...- Reactcore

Another marvelous album for HMS. If one cant hear its depth and transient effect with these drums.. nothing will.- Reactcore

You can also get Hugo2 and Mscaler first. It outperforms TT2 on its own in terms of transient timing. You also have the benefit of H2 being off grid so it wont have a groundloop and fill in its purpose of mobillity. You need a 3.5mm stereo to dual BNC cable to get 1M taps. -

I noticed netflix streams all its movies at 44.1k on my TV android phone and ipad.. which sounds nowhere near as good as the same movies downloaded from other sources at (their native demultiplied) 48k. It seems they downsample for the sake of winning 5% network bandwidth. I hope im wrong and...- Reactcore

CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
Its actually closer to real life sound. Smoother with less brightness. Many ones brains are trained to hear the edged up digital sound it gets presented everywhere.. its grew up with it. I had the same when i improved my set on HF noise isolation.. i had to get used to what initially felt less...- Reactcore

Watts Up...?
Try some of the ones i posted on Mscaler thread.. or just check up songs when the play is recorded before '68 and find an old early 80's 44.1 redbook rip of it. -
Watts Up...?
To my ears, Mscaler, and with Chord DAC's in general they really depend on the source being bitperfect and not overly DSP'ed in a studio. One DSP setting activated on your player can take 80% away of Mscaler's effect. A few settings to check on you player: Output samplerate is the same as the... -
Watts Up...?
Would you describe the perceived sonic differences a bit ..Did you hear new aspects in the sound? I assume older pre Dolby 1968 records and non digital mixed like direct from mike to ADC benefit the most as with current Mscaler? -

If they can play loud enough for you, stay on front SE out. As it uses a shorter signal path with less components and thus giving better SQ.- Reactcore
