Campfire Chat - Official Campfire Audio 2024 Thread!

Bass and sub bass are very good with good extension and lots of detail. But without listening it’s hard to say if it’s enough for you? Try listening to the track Momma Sed by Puscifer. The sub bass sounds amazing on the BS. According to Campfire it’s designed to be close (slightly north of) to...

Just press the order button 😎 The BS matches perfectly with what you want. I listened to some Sweatson Klank last night that sounded amazing on the BS. Lots of quality bass. I also listen to a lot of different rock and metal including some crazy fast stuff like Archspire and slower more bass...

Looking forward to your write up 👍 I enjoy my BS but have not heard the Bonneville.

See post 616 and 726 in this tread. Bonneville seems to have more (mid?)bass while the BS is a little more analytic with more sparkle up top. But they seem to be somewhat similar…?

BS is great with metal as long as its properly recorded. Archspires “Bleed the future” album sounds amazing and more sludgy things like eg Druids “Shadow work” has nice weight in the low end. Older metal like Dream Theater “Systematic chaos” sounds a little “lighter”. I guess “substantial...

Been listening to the BlackStar the past few weeks and really like it so far. I wanted something different than my Vega2020 without being too analytic and the BS hits that spot nicely. They are a tad bass light on low volume so I need to play around with the DSP on the Mojo2

    Campfire Dorado 2020

100% agree with this. It's almost impossible to get any kind of fatigue/sibilance from the Vega2020, they just sound smooth with anything from hi-res files to crappy Youtube recordings. Some find them boring but I've been enjoying mine for many many hours. And they are only 299 on Drop, crazy...

Interesting. Any pics of this solution? Can you get tips with cloth/swab already installed?

From their site: Fathom is encased in a machined aluminum body anodized in a sleek, black, bright-dip.

Cool, thanks. I don't feel the need to correct anything about the Vega2020 (using standard Campfire foam tips) but I just ordered a Black Star so I might look into other tips if they sound strange...

Agree. I only use foam tips so not much point in tip rolling I guess? (can foam tips sound different?) I used many hours trying to EQ my Dorado2020 (using my Mojo2) but ended up selling them because I could not get the sound I wanted (expensive blind buy like you said...).

How do you want to change the sound of your Mammoth? I think that cables, tips and EQ can alter the sound of an IEM to better give you what your looking for. But it might end up being expensive. Have you considered to just keep the Mammoth as-is and use your cash to buy another IEM with a...

Ok, thanks. I already own the Vega2020 and have a feeling that the BlackStar would compliment it nicely...

Nice collection  Can you share some thoughts about the BlackStar treble? Do you find it to be sibilant or fatiguing?
