The Ear Pads Thread (post questions or say what ear pads worked for you)

Thanks for the replies folks. I should clarify that I'm trying to use the hm5 velour pads on the t1s not the hm5 pleather pads, though I did pick up a pair of each during the sale. Still no luck trying to stretch these.. They started to tear in a couple places so I had to stop trying... Still...

The Ear Pads Thread (post questions or say what ear pads worked for you)

Thanks! Glad to know it's possible.. couldn't find any videos of the process involved in putting these on any beyerdynamic headphones. That's why I ended up coming here to ask.    Edit: I spent 45 minutes trying to stretch these onto my T1s and they didn't even get remotely close... I swear...

The Ear Pads Thread (post questions or say what ear pads worked for you)

For all of those who are using the HM5 pads on their beyerdynamic headphones.. how did you ever manage to stretch these enough to make them fit?    I bought a couple pairs of the HM5 pads which I was able to cut and fit on my HD650s fine but I can't for the life of me get them on any of my BD...

removing the smell of smoke from headphones?

Thanks for the additional tip, I'll try this.    I'm cursing everyone who has ever made a pair of headphones without detachable cables.. and those cloth cables, man do they absorb the smoke smell. The foam in the cups holds the smell really heavily as well.    I gave up and ordered new...

Brainwavz HM5 Pads (Different Colours / Velour / Leather)

Brainwavz is having a 20% off sale for Chinese New Year so I'm planning on picking up a couple pairs.   So far I've got the velour pads for my HD650s in my cart.   I do need a new pair of pads for my Beyerdynamic T1s and Dennon D7000 but these are both round. The D7000 uses a mounting ring...

Asus Essence One Headphone Amp/DAC (CeBIT 2011)

Not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask, but how do you differentiate between the Essence One and the Essence One Muses edition, aside from looking at the op amps? Is there any physical difference between the two on the outside?

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)

I've spent the last 5 hours trying to get SPDIF to output some form of audio, followed 20+ guides and it just won't work.. I'm ready to smash this piece of crap sound blaster z into a million pieces. /endrant.

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)

Yes, I can keep the Woo Audio if I want. I ordered two new tubes off ebay, which will take a while to arrive. I'll give it a shot as you suggested.    To expand on my question with your suggestion in mind, will using a USB DAC not be less beneficial than using a SPDIF amp? I would like to...

removing the smell of smoke from headphones?

This thread is pretty old, but I keep getting linked here.    I recently got a few pairs of great headphones (D7000, T1, HD650) that are in great shape, but smell just horrible. Previously owned by a chain smoker.    I took them apart and cleaned each piece with vinegar and water. The blue...

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)

Hello everyone,    I'm certainly an audio noob compared to most on the head-fi forums so I apologize for any confusion and/or incorrect assumptions. I've read through the main post and several good responses, but I haven't gone through all 250 pages.    I've been a huge PC gamer for the past...

Buying portable or in-ear headphones? Seeking guidance? DON'T START A NEW THREAD. Ask for advice HERE!

Hi All,   I wasn't sure whether or not I should start a new thread for this and in the end decided to post here.   I'm very new to IEMs and have tried a couple pairs without success. I've searched and haven't found someone with a similar problem.   My problem is that I've yet to find...

Thanks for the input guys! I'm looking in to the RX700's right now but it sounds like the AD700's are more for me. Its tough to decide through the internet because you don't get a chance to hear the headphones first hand.

    AD700/MDR F1 gaming review.

Thanks for this! I've been trying to decide between these two for ages. Now all that still has me undecided on the MDR F1 is the price tag
