I think both TH-X00 Purpleheart and TH900's look gorgeous. Any headphone with wooden cups are generally my favourite looking.

Me as well. I was very impressed by the pad trimming and foam placement mod being able to modify the sound of the TH900 so much. @whitigir's guide is amazing and even though he gives a few great placements with examples of how they change the sound, you can even play with it further like I did...

So I just completed the mods and was playing around for around 4 hours with the foam positioning, and I found for my needs that moving it in a position somewhere inbetween stock+ and #2 worked best. I couldn't be happier with the headphones now; thanks a ****load for this!!!     Keep up the...

I'd say this would be very hard to answer....as they are your first audiophile grade headphones. The TH-X00's are a better headphone in my opinion, but if you're used to the sound signature of the M100's....you may feel like you're losing out on bass and mistake that for losing out on quality...

You'll likely be able to find users on the forum selling for around that price as well if you really want them. I don't own them, but I've listened to them before and they are definitely a great sounding headphone. I may considering replacing my HE400's with them at some point.

With the announcement of the TH610, I feel like there may not be another drop of the TH-X00 for a very long time :(. I definitely regret missing my chance to get these when they were on drop. Now I'll most likely have to just wait for the TH610 and consider coughing up a lot of money to receive...
