    This weekend I compared Lcd2 and HD650

Quote:   Everybody but me than. Surely the HD-650 is a good phone, regarding the price. So the K701/2 and sr225 is. And without doubt several other phones I never had the opportunity to listen to.

    What happened to Grado's reputation?

Hmm, after I purchased the sr225 I totally fell in love with the sound. I didn't like my HD580 anymore, even with classical, it sounded just too far away.

    Official HF-2 Serial Number List

Clear... the headphone cup says: 1077. 'Problem' solved, sorry for the confusion.

Funny... anyone know how to read this?

    Official HF-2 Serial Number List

Hmm, maybe I misread the handwritten #1080; the 8 could be a 5, although it's a really strange 5 then: I read it as an 8. Don't know. Will post some pictures later, have little time.

Watching Movies on Laptop and Output Sound via USB?

A very nice, almost portable, desktop USB DAC with integrated amplifier is the Audinst HUD-mx1 (ebay $179,--). It's plug and play, no extra drivers needed (Windows, Mac and Linux), so with that I think you're done. But maybe I don't understand your question completely, regarding the HDMI part.

    Next Grado: SR325is / MS2i or a waste?

Agree with all repies. IMO I think it's better to spend your money on a DAC/Amp. I never heard the RS1, I'm waiting for the HF2. But I happily own the RS225i and they sound so much better with a nice DAC/Amp. Surely they are easy to drive and sound good without amping, but they sound a lot...

yet another sr80 vs ms1 vs sr225 decision thread

I owned the SR80i. Now I own the SR225i and I love them. I find them much better then the SR80i's; in the beginning a bit harsh maybe, but after a while I didn't notice anymore. It has a very nice and direct sound. I like them even for classical. Though the other headphone I own (HD 580) might...

looking for open, non amped cans for guitar practice and all kinds of music

Indeed the sr225 are really nice. I like them a lot more than the sr80's, and sometimes you can find them used for less than $150.

Think the Grado SR80 too... Sennheiser HD580 is also very nice, but I think that one will be better when amped.

    K701s or HD-25 1 IIs?

I care about sound signature, but for me it's only important when I'm alone and everything's quiet. I have the HD-25-II for portable use now and I really like them. Had the K701 for home use and really liked them too. It's hard to compare those two, they're very different. The K701 is a better...

Looking for new closed headphones - Budget £100-£150

Quote: I don't know whether I should call them comfortable, but they're easy to wear for sure. Light weight, no clamping and you can choose between two ear cushions. But of course this is really personal, I even find the Grado's easy to wear, the K701 comfortable and I hated to wear the...

Looking for new closed headphones - Budget £100-£150

I own the Sennheisers and I like them a lot especially for portable use. They're easy to wear and I really like the sound. The sound might not be so refined, compared to my HD580, but it has a nice signature. I understand the reviewer compares it to the Grado sound.   Bass is strong. They...
