I have the HD 558 and I'm thinking of upgrading to the HD 650. I find the HD 558 good but not loud enough. if I raise my left and right channel to max meaning from default 80% to 100% it starts to make a hissing noise. So i'm thinking about getting the HD 650 since I can get it for a good price...

Well I know the HD 558 is 50ohms. Can I use the Exciter mode even though its recommended 64 and higher. I don't hear any distortions. is that even normal?  -Michael
