Is headphone "break-in" an actual phenomenon?
With the appropriate level of volume should be fine. Even some guys recommend it with a slightly higher listening level.- Psychoactive

Naturally listening and take note for the change of sound its my preferred way, some of others burn their headphone in by playing pink or white noise.- Psychoactive

I tried this... to compare a burned in set against a new set for their sound similarity. Most of the headphone don't sound the same for me. More happened to full sized headphone or those IEMs have large driver/diaphragm.- Psychoactive

whats so good about beats headphones?
They are still pretty overpriced. Yet i agree with your statement saying that listening to a particular headphone over a period of time makes you feel a little bit more having the "toleration" for the distinct signature.- Psychoactive

I would say the beats have a distinctive (and bad) coloration on the sound signature that appeals the mass consumers with faux impression regarding good sound. Zero deep bass, mid/high bass humping along muddy and hollow like presentation of mid and high. Veiled like I'm listening to music...- Psychoactive
