I used to be almost exclusively PC, but as I get older I feel being able to pick up a Switch or an XBox controller to resume a game from the couch and then put it down feels like less of a commitment of time. How far away from your headphones is your microphone set up? I've used a desk mic with open headphones for a long time without complaints (though admittedly not as nice of a mic). Mine sits a few feet away from me.- pr0ximity

I imagine if you open them up it should be evident which wire needs to be resoldered. I'd start with taking a look inside to see if it's onbvious, and if not, maybe reflow each wire anyway. It's very easy if you have an iron, and if not, they're fairly inexpensive and fun to use.- pr0ximity
