Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
Thanks for all the inputs! So that means, digital to digital conversion is not affected by noise or other issues? I mean, how is it guaranteed that the optical puts out what came in via the noisy usb? Is this process so simple that any cheap USB->Optical adapter can do this well?- powermod

Sure, but it would kind of imply that the Topping device handles the noisy USB input better than the HMS....- powermod

Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
After fiddeling around with HMS/TT2 connected directly via USB to my Mac / Studio Display, I want to optimize my digital source. I read a lot about streamers and the SRC-DX or OPTO. As I understood, an SRC-DX needs a good source as well to perform good. And that could potentially be a...- powermod

Warwick Acoustics APERIO and BRAVURA
Hi, I am currently using HQPlayer --> TT2 --> LCD-5 and considering an upgrade. Options I have in mind are 1) Add the MScaler: MScaler --> TT2 --> LCD-5 2) Give-up TT2/LCD-5 and get a Bravura System Some thoughts: - I mainly listen to classical music and want good soundstage reconstruction...- powermod

Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
I am not talking specifically about LPS, but want to pose a more general question. I am wondering if ANY device in the power supply chain could have an impact on the sound of the TT2 at all. The LPS statement from Rob Watts was only an example that led me to this question. The question is, is it...- powermod

Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
Hi, can a TT2 benefit from an AC power line filter and shielded AC cable into the delivered AC-DC converter? According to Rob Watts, the TT2 doesn't need a special linear AC-DC power converter. To my understanding, the internal components are driven by the capacitors of the TT2. Does that mean...- powermod

iFi Audio iGalvanic3.0 - The Holy Grail of Audio
I wonder how any of these products can help a TT2 at all. Aren't the USB and clock of the TT2 very well designed with very good dithering performance? I understand that ground loops with audible hum could be a real problem. But can one really improve the sound quality with any of these adapters?- powermod

iFi Audio iGalvanic3.0 - The Holy Grail of Audio
Crazy chain  The TT2 already has a galvanic isolated usb port. I wonder if another igalvanic adapter would make any difference. Or what kind of improvements you have from all the other adapters. Is there really an improvement in SQ (when one has no obviously audible noises in the audio...- powermod

Chord Electronics TT3? Dave 2? Why is no one talking about this....
Thanks for the hints. I'll receive a TT2 in a few days :) Then I can safely first try USB and hope to not observe these quirks- powermod

Chord Electronics TT3? Dave 2? Why is no one talking about this....
This may depend on the personal taste, listening capabilities and signal chain. Both are certainly absolutely excellent. I don't own (and didn't listen to) them but there are a few reviews on YT and in forums with somewhat inconclusive statements. Some prefer the May over the Dave some the Dave...- powermod

Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview
The V550 would also fit better on my desk. I think I get this one definitely first, and maybe a Bryston for comparison if I find one cheap. It could also help in winter to heat my workspace 🤣 According to the manual, my Gustard R26 outputs 5Vrms through XLR. What does ‚sensitive to input...- powermod
