Which DT770 version for FiiO E7?

I'll probably end up doing that.  If I find it too hard to drive then I'll return it and swap it out only losing about $5.  While I'm sure there are some differences like the ones from that detailed review but overall I'd expect the sound of the different versions to be pretty similar.

Which DT770 version for FiiO E7?

Lollll thanks.  It's been quite the process but I think I'll be satisfied... for now. Just wish the 80 ohm 770s had a coiled cord.

Which DT770 version for FiiO E7?

I wish the 80 ohm had a coiled cord!  Oh well.  Not a deal breaker but I'm not trying to have a long permanent straight cord.

Which DT770 version for FiiO E7?

Interesting thanks.  I was surprised to read he felt the mids on the 80ohm were less recessed than the others while also having more bass.  I like the full sound (I'm PRETTY sure I tested the 32 but it could've been the 80-really wish I checked ugh) and really liked it.  I'll definitely order...

Which DT770 version for FiiO E7?

I heard the 80 ohm has slightly more recessed mids/vocals which I'd like to avoid and they weren't in stock from Amazon besides third party. Not a huge deal if those really are the best choice as long as the mids won't be too bad for vocals. Listen mostly to heavier rock but have some soft vocal...

Which DT770 version for FiiO E7?

So I've decided to get the DT770s and I'm deciding between the 32 ohm and 250 ohm versions.  I have the FiiO E7.  Is that enough to power the 250 ohm headphone or should I go with the 32?  95% of my listening will be through my laptop so the DAC of the E7 is attractive.

n00b looking for some somewhat bassy cans

Totally agree.  I'm no audiophile but after some research I was sold that the M50s were what I wanted and compared them to the DT770s at Guitar Center.  The 770s blew the M50s away (and I was rooting for the M50s).  I really like the build and fit of the M50s but the bass definitely was muddy...

Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro - Limited Edition, 32 Ohms

Thanks for the response.  I'll prob just go for the 32 considering those still likely benefit from an amp anyways. I just don't want to be missing out on sound quality by going with a lower impedance.  Nevertheless, I'm excited about the prospect of getting the 770s.

    Versatile headphones $150 and under?

Alright so my experience with the ProDJ100 headphones with the FiiO E7 amp is a bit mixed in the end but overall positive.  They definitely benefit from the amp and for general rock music to softer acoustics they perform REALLY well-especially considering the price.  I found the sound a...

Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro - Limited Edition, 32 Ohms

This thread has been GREAT.  I listen to mostly rock and metal with some softer stuff mixed in.  I have a FiiO E7.  The 250 ohm version is about $20 cheaper right now than the 32 ohm version.  I will be listening through the E7 on my laptop most of the time with some iPod listening here and...

    Versatile headphones $150 and under?

For the (VERY) little time I spent listening to those I really liked the sound.  I couldn't get over the oval earpads/build of the M50 being more preferable and left without the 770s but the more I think about it the more I think those might be my choice because I don't need them to be mobile...

    Versatile headphones $150 and under?

The UE6000s remind me of a Beats type of build which don't really clamp.  I really liked the build of the M50s.  I found the mids on the M50s to be much more recessed than the DT770s.  Maybe because the bass felt more muddy to me which could have bled into the mids more (?).  The ZMFs are a...

    Versatile headphones $150 and under?

Thanks.  The UE6000's look decent but they don't look like I'd enjoy the build.  And I'm looking for closed back.     I have some thoughts on the DJ100s but I've only had a few hours of listening so I'll post those tomorrow after I get some more time with them.  Any thoughts on the...

    Versatile headphones $150 and under?

So my search continues... I got the Koss DJ100s with M50 pads from Amazon and I think these actually might be my winner for now.  I have a fiio E7 (any upgrade to this for $70 and under?  Want it to have a DAC too)  Here's the background:   Music being listened to - Mostly heavy rock with some...
