Dan Clark Audio Stealth Review, Interview, Measurements
Just came back from a haircut and wow Stealth sounds better than ever again, subbass thick and deep like it's supposed to and it gives the headphone the impact it was designed to have. 10/10 would recommend.- plumpudding2

Not to start up some annoying objectivist discussion but there is no such thing as technical performance and musicality right.. these things are also in the ear of the belistener. The only thing we as an audio community can do is aggregate subjective takes and say "most people who listened to...- plumpudding2

Phase is not totally inaudible, go listen to a sawtooth wave. Our ears are half-wave rectifiers which means phase matters for asymmetrical waveforms. Haven't been able to discern the effect myself for recorded waveforms however.- plumpudding2

Your take is the complete opposite of mine 😂 Hifi may mean high fidelity but I consider it to be the pursuit of getting close to the analog signal that entered the adc, not the digitized signal that enters the dac. However this is also getting off topic so i'll stop here.- plumpudding2

Song sounds great to me, and in my humble opinion crappily mastered pop is some of the hardest content to get right. Steely Dan sounds good on everything, but a good dac will fix crap mastering. Well honestly I think HQPlayer might be doing a lot of heavy lifting here.- plumpudding2

Can you share those resources? Last time Jussi said anything it was that HQPlayer sets its own thread priorities and you'll only mess that up if you change these things- plumpudding2

NEW HIFIMAN Susvara Unveiled!
Most amps have their sweetspots between 16 and 32 ohms so let's assume a reduction towards this range is a linear increase in driveability. 3db more sensitive (2x factor) + 25% lower impedance means you get about 2.67x more juice into that headphone compared to its veiled counterpart- plumpudding2

Aren't we all forgetting that 6k in 2017 is 7700 in 2024? (and i personally believe actual inflation is much higher than the official 28%) It has the same price as Sus mk1 when it came out so while I question the value proposition compared to mk1 it's not really crazy pricing- plumpudding2

I've not heard Caldera so I do not dare to speculate on that. When I had only the RME unit the Susvara was my favorite over my Stealth, HEDDphone and HD800, it's not like it only became good after I upgraded my chain. Honestly I have the opposite, on the RME I much preferred Susvara but now on...- plumpudding2

Amirm tested Susvara with AHB2 through the HE adapter and John Siau the AHB2 designer came into the thread and said it was regrettable that he used the adapter as it can only degrade the sound when used with the AHB2 so I'm mostly basing my opinion on that.- plumpudding2
