Bowers and Wilkins PX8 Wireless Discussion

What I find strange given the press reviews is that they changed the sound from stock. Don't get me wrong I love this sound now but at least 2 people preferred stock. I wonder if Bowers changed the sound to be more competitive against the Bathys? In the UK at least a number of shops only stock...

    Side By Side Comparison - AirPods Max, B&O H95, Dali iO-6, B&W PX8, ML 5909, M&D MW75, Focal Bathys and more

Hi Maukey Will you be re reviewing the PX8 with version 3 of the firmware? Unusually B and W state that they have improved audio performance with this firmware. I guess you should only do this if a manufacturer states this in the release otherwise you would be on a testing merry go round. My...

Bowers and Wilkins PX8 Wireless Discussion

Incidentally my current pair of 8s has 23/08 on the box. Which I presume means it was manufactured 8th week in 2023. My S2s are 23/09 and px8s display were 23/11.

Bowers and Wilkins PX8 Wireless Discussion

So my NC can journey this year consists of the xm5s then px8 ex display, px7s2 and now px8 new sealed boxed. I still have them all except the ex display px8. I know I have a problem 😕. Still the sound from the px8 new is exceptional to my ears without NC. NC does lift the bass though. The ex...

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 noise-cancelling over ear headphones

I have about 40 hours on my px7 carbons now. I more or less completely agree with UnsaneBrain. The bass is deep and solid doesn't come across as boomy. The high are nice and extended without being to sharp. Mids can be a bit reserved but generally clean. ANC alters the sound slightly enhancing...

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 noise-cancelling over ear headphones

The only reason I say LDAC is that Samsung phones only output Aptx not aptxhd been like that for years in the UK. In essence I can't detect much difference between them all other than SBC.

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 noise-cancelling over ear headphones

Personally I would like to see them develop a PX9 version in Carbon. They could include:- Leather earcups and headband LDAC as well as all the other codecs A case that was black carbon Total by pass of the internal dac/amp so they could be used as quality wired cans Superior mic for phonecalls A...

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 noise-cancelling over ear headphones

Good to know I am not alone. My replacement pair seem fine though. On sound quality I would say these are the best I have had. The 1st pair of Space Greys sounded very dull and muddled on some tracks as well as having a battery issue. They were in the first batch of builds. The next pair I...

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 noise-cancelling over ear headphones

I do think v1.2 does indicate more than just a colour variant. They didn't do this on the original two colours so why start now? I suspect that if we do another upgrade these will jump to v1.4 and the space greys, silvers will goto v1.3. I believe 1B085 must be the build were the originals 1B082?

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 noise-cancelling over ear headphones

I did ask Bowers who said that v1.2 is the same as v1.1 and is just to show this is new model. Now that a full working pair I do think these are slightly different tuned to the px7s space greys. The bass is still deep but better defined and the mids sound more forward. Its hard as I sold the...

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 noise-cancelling over ear headphones

Just check in the app and see if you have v1.2. I have been told by B and W support that there are no changes to v1.1 and this just for the Carbon Edition. Seems odd to develop a new firmware just for a colour/design change. Do you have any clicking on your when walking turning your head...

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 noise-cancelling over ear headphones

Well I think the Carbons have a different sound definitely more forward and a nice treble not bright. I think this balance is better but for a more balanced sound the Aonics take some beating. These are better in every other way. I suspect that v1.2 indicates that there are different...

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 noise-cancelling over ear headphones

I have been in contact with Bowers and Wilkins on the firmware issue as well as clicking on the left hand side of the headphones. The firmware is apparently unique to the Carbon Edition and there are no changes to v1.1. The clicking (started yesterday) but no reply on that yet. Must admit these...

Anyone on v1.2 firmware? My px7s came with this on but no mention on the website.

Must admit I find all wear sensors finicky. Mine were new yesterday didn't charge at first but now do. I can only think that they think are using as a USBC audio connection at first.
