the older fx33's also have a larger foam insert (in addition to the larger diameter) ive owned two pairs of the 33's in the past and i recently acquired some 34's. the sound is pretty much identical, the only reason i prefer the older 33's is because of habit/i feel like the larger inserts...

my friend once let me listen to a pair he had - while i didnt know how old they were, they seemed much more like a studio headphone than for personal use. I honestly wasent very blown away, but i only had them on for upwards of half an hour.

i felt the second one today and it definetly rattled me more than the previous one. maybe its because i was downstairs in a basement like environment ish, or that my house is really old, but it felt like something went tumbling down my stairs.
