Yamaha EPH-100
Quote: It's weird, the sound stage seems to have gone from sort of flat and 2D just ok listening experience to being an awesome 3D 360 degree out of head listening experience. Yamaha EPH-100
I've gone from being seriously underwhelmed to seriously amazed by these yams since I bought them a few days ago. No idea whether it is brain burn in or real burn in but the fact of the matter is that they have transformed in my perception from being just ok, about equal with my soundmagic E30's...- pinkmoon1972

Superlux Express Train
Just got the HD 440's yesterday (for an amazing £20.00) to compliment my HD669 and the first thing that struck me is how well the 440 do female vocals, very silky and seductive. Another thing I just noticed when comparing them with my Yamaha eph100 iEM's on a not very well recorded song by Pulp...- pinkmoon1972

Superlux HD 668B?
First post at head-fi for a few years now. Just got some Superlux HD 669's to go with my sansa fuze and ( also new) fiio e11 and oh my, these things are just incredible for £30.00. The last full sized phones I had were the Audio technica AD700's and apart from the soundstage the superlux's are...- pinkmoon1972

iem with great soundstage under 120$
I can't see that changing your player will make much difference to soundstage, I think clip + is meant to sound pretty much the same as fuze, which is a great player to my ears ( better than my cowon D2), especially with rockbox. From what I've read hippo vb has even more bass than eterna so...- pinkmoon1972

iem with great soundstage under 120$
I you dont want boom boom I'd stay away from eterna v1. HJE900 sounds like a safe bet to me, bass is fast and punchy but doesn't overwhelm like eterna's can, I think they are quite well balanced but some say aggressive. The soundstage is not huge but its certainly very healthy. I miss the HJE's...- pinkmoon1972

is it worth a trade? Shure se115 > eterna v1
Not heard the se115 but I had the se210 and they were about the blandest IEM I can recall hearing. Going from the Shure to the Eterna will be like going from a vicar's tea party to an elephants LSD orgy.- pinkmoon1972

Best IEMs $25-$50
Best IEM in that range I've heard are the PL30's, I love em. Soo very comfortable, well built and durable, very wide soundstage. Warmish and slightly soft sounding but nicely detailed too, bass is just about right for me, midrange is lush, treble is slightly rounded but with sparkle when...- pinkmoon1972

Looking for a good set of bassey earphones price range of anything up to £50
Agreed on the Eterna, the bass on V1 is just colossal. Very classy and smooth sound overall, just be prepared to have your eardrums pummelled as well as tickled.- pinkmoon1972

iem with great soundstage under 120$
Fischer audio eterna ( I had v1) probably have the most spacious and enveloping soundstage I have experienced on an IEM. Bass is aplenty ( too much and too bangin for me, but I believe it is toned down a fraction in v2 ) It is a rather warm IEM though, never heard any sibilance. DDM...- pinkmoon1972

The Etymotics HF5 Thread
Strangely enough even though I felt I got a very good seal and fit ( was quite uncomfortable mind) I didn't think they isolated that well with the triple flanges, I was hoping to use them at work to block out the sound of droning machines and waffling work colleages. Oh well, tis fun to try out...- pinkmoon1972

The Etymotics HF5 Thread
Picked up some used hf2's the other day inspired by all the recent hf5 activity here but didn't get on with them at all. Might be because they came with only the triple flanges and I couldnt find any other tips that worked with them, but man do these things go in deep, felt like I was guiding...- pinkmoon1972

Radius DDM vs Panasonic HJE 900
I dont have either of them any more but going from recent memory HJE900's are fast and punchy in the bass, much more energetic treble than DDM, midrange is lusher on DDM, bass is more organic and fatter on DDM but not as fast as HJE, DDM is more laid back with amazing 3D layering. I always...- pinkmoon1972
