Sampler set. 1 each IEM, on-ear, over-ear, different sound profiles, ~$100?

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I understand on-ear headphones don't provide the same level of isolation as IEM or Over-ear. I couldn't find an on-ear option with decent isolation until I hit the $70+ range. So I figured that the on-ear option would give her an idea of what an open headphone...

My apologies. That wasn't intended to be rude. You just offered an opinion which went against what I was asking for, which is ok. I just wanted to know the logic behind it to see if I should adopt a similar view point. And your comment on the monoprice not being comfortable is also helpful...

Why should I forget the on ear? I know a number of people who have a preference for on-ear headphones vs over ear. How will she find out if she's one of them or not?

Planning on pulling the trigger on this tonight if no one has any input. ^-^ Obviously I haven't made a huge mistake otherwise someone would have come and argued with me about it.   Still very open to input though. Thanks for lookin.

    Headphone advice - <$250

Might I suggest that you look for 2 different sets of headphones. A lighter wireless headset for work, and a quality set of headphones for music/gaming.    There's a good deal of headsets that cater to phone support and telemarketer needs. Light, unobtrusive headphones, sometimes wireless...

So my sister has been using terrible headphones for years now, and I'm tired of it. And so is she, she just refuses to say anything about it ^-^. We're talkin stock Apple ear buds and $2 headphones from the drugstore. Her music listening tastes are across the board, and I can't get a read on...

    Cans for brother.

Granted, but the Beyerdynamic DT 770 breaks my budget even off of e-bay.

    Cans for brother.

I'm looking for a good deal on a set of circumaural cans for my brother who just went through an ear operation. I looked through the reviews on the headphonereviews.org but had trouble finding any of the headphones for sale. I'm looking for something under $150. He's a bit rough on his stuff, so...

    What's my 'earprint'?

I'm not looking to replicate the sound of a type a speakers even. I'm looking for something that is like "In this audio sample you will hear what is commonly refered to a 'tinny treble or highs' ". What does rolled off sound like? How is that different from shallow? There's quite a bit of...

    What's my 'earprint'?

After spending quite a bit of time reading up on speakers, I've found that everyone seems to have their own taste in sound. That's fine; it makes sense to me. I can not, however, seem to grasp how to get a good idea on what /my/ taste is and how to communicate/relate that to others. Is there...
