How about the Denon AH-D2000? Very good headphone and probably cost half of what you're willing so spend. Then you can take the rest of the money and get a portable amp. David

falcon, Have you considered any IEMs? Or do you want to stick the a headphone? The IEMs will give you the best isolation. If you go with that, maybe think about the UE's or the LiveWires. If you want cans, what about noise cancelling cans? Maybe one of the best out there is the Senn PXC 450...
